That Nasu quote is further disproved by Nasu himself who says that his view of UBW anime's epilogue was not just Shirou "surpassing" Archer on their both, but doing it alongside Rin. This makes much more sense than that quote since well Rin made a promise to both of them lmao. She loves Shirou so much that she went as far as to damage her own potential to keep Saber around in UBW good end, just because Shirou would be really sad without her
