It's been quite some time since i read Kei's original story, yet i can enjoy this spinoff just fine. Everytime Kei mentions her family back home i feel like i have an anime flashback lol. Also I am desperately in need of more "Ace lived" story, so thank you for that too

Just finished my? eighth? reread of this fic and sjfhkjfjskd it just brings me so much joy? I fucking love it. Every single time I see any bonding between any characters it feels like a great big serotonin punch to my little monkey brain. EVEN THE CURRENT STRESSFUL FIGHT (FUCK OFF AKAINU I CANT BELIEVE HE STILL HIT ACE FUCKING BLS I GET ANXIOUS ANYTIME THEIR NAMES ARE MENTIONED IN THE SAME PARAGRAPH) IS STILL SO TOUCHING? utakata slowly opening up to his new found allies and yugito's absolute protective rage over Ace absolutely destroy me. urghghghgh just thinking of this character development is making me tear up oh god oh no oh goD

I read your other stories with shenanigans involving Kei, and I have to say that this is just as amazing as those other ones! AAHHHHHHHH I LOVE YOUR WRITING!

First up, thank you for the update! It's good to have this story back! I know a lot of people were asking about this way before me, so thank you for writing to begin with, Lang! At the same time...
ミ＼（ロ＼） I wanna do this table flip on Garp SO MUCH right now. The fact that he bought into the lie that Ace was dead frustrates all heck out of me since he should KNOW BETTER. And then Akainu - I have no clue what the fuck is his goddamn problem, but I wanna skewer him on lots of spikes and leave him to die. At least Utakata was able to do it in the end!

Although, Ace. Ace, Ace, Ace. Your penchant for trouble. I hope he really makes it out okay, though from how his wounds are described, it's gonna take a lot to even /mend/ the internal damage, and that's my bio major talking here. Along with Yugito's cracked ribs (THANKS AOKIJI, YOU ASSHOLE), this was a big chapter from start to finish. I really appreciate how each Tailed Beast got a voice since they have their own stakes in this thanks to Ace treating them better than well, ANYONE ELSE, so Matatabi being protective Cat Tailed Beast Mom was really sweet.

Also. Kei is still a badass! I'm really glad she's the voice of reason in some places, and along with all the action, I'm really glad we got this chapter! I can just imagine how much mental wracking you and Abalisk probably had to do in order to get this into words, so your work really shows. :)

Finally, that last hug. Utakata did it. He avenged the first pirates he met and it was fitting. Akainu got what was coming. Even though I hate he got a potshot at Ace a la Canon in a different area in this continuity... ミ＼（ロ＼）

Enough of me flipping tables! You did an amazing update and I'm sorry if I sound frustrated! Feelings, feelings, ARGH.

I'm so happy to see this update! I decided to reread the whole thing again, which was absolutely worth it, because this story is awesome. And the new chapter - whew! Just, wow.

I was just reading through the story when I noticed that the phrase: “but Marco’s a Mythic Zoan. They say the only other one that’s ever been found got eaten by Fleet Admiral Sengoku.” is a bit outdated. With Kaido’s dragon fruit, Orochi’s hydra fruit, and Catarina Devon’s Ninetailed fox fruit, claiming that there were only two mythical Zoan fruits in the world comes across as slightly absurd.

Also, this has been a great fic thus far. Your experience really shows. I'll offer critique if I get to something poorly done or disloyal to the source material, but so far it's been great.
