Amazing! I’m so glad so see this story get updated! There are so few good borderlands fanfictions that every one counts.

The Return of the King! What a treat to see Rebel Anarchy back in action, and what chaotic action it was, Caustic Caverns is, quite literally, the toxic hellscape of Pandora in my eyes. I want a little companion like Iolite now.

I can understand the delays, the hassle of real life can be so taxing at times, not to mention when you get to a point in a story which takes several versions before it feels and looks right. Regardless, fantastic work, and I patiently await what comes next for... Marvin, yeah, that's a really dumb name, perfect for a genocidal asshole. And a Happy New Year to you too.

I must give my apologizes, I completely missed this chapter, dunno how but I did, was a fun surprise to say the least as I read through this whole story again. I'd like to say this was a fun chapter after all the chaos that occurred last time what with getting back to Sanctuary and the Vault Key plan ahead. Gaige and Kai continue to bring me an endless source of entertainment, even the flashbacks to Reiss again were great to see.

I could go on about my general outlook on all the positives and small negatives I have with this story but I'd feel it would be quite long so I'll try to keep it brief. This story remains my all-time favourite I've ever come across for Borderlands 2, hands down. Kai is one of few OCs that actively fills a role in the story without it feeling like he's just there to react to the plotline, he has connections, history, and an overall great character. Sometimes his outburst of rage feel a little too much but then again this is Borderlands we're talking about so I'm not too fussed about it.

How you've managed to give so much more to the Vault Hunters and even side characters has me engaged too, I mean the whole explosive adventures with Mister Torgue at the ends of the chapters is just a wild ride bonus. Also more of Handsome Jackass is a win in my book.

Overall, this story, despite how long time between chapters may be has remained glued into my mind all this time, even gives me some creative inspiration for my own projects. Regardless of what comes next, this story is, as Gaige puts it, METAL.

Can't keep reading this. Too many red flags. Gaige punching the MC as a recurring gag? Wtf is this, some trash anime? It was interesting while it lasted but not for me. I wish you fortune in your future writings.

And here comes the first major red flag. New-U? Are you serious? You do realize that those aren't lore canon as was confirmed by the developers right? It was only a gimmick for the gameplay to avoid scum saving.

Which brings me to the minor red flags. You write the story as if you are writing a game scene. You are constraining yourself too much with the game methodology and mechanics, when you should have balanced out the mechanics of the world.

For instance, the Vault Hunters are too weak. They are supposed to be badasses who cruised their way to Sanctuary. You yourself said the guns they picked up are at level 50 which should imply that they are at least the equivalent of level 50 and should thus be badasses already with room to grow to their full potential where they max out their proverbial skills.

Some other changes for example; First, Tediores need to be normally reloaded like in Borderlands One but have an exploding option as a last resort where the gun is gone forever as a nod to its gimmick in Borderlands 2. Second, Shields should take a lot longer to recharge and need actual power, meaning the VHs need to stop every now and then to recharge them or carry batteries. We know for a fact that the shields have batteries in them after all. Third, and most importantly, no bullet sponged enemies! This is not a game anymore, this is real life! Captain Flynt is tough in game but he's flesh and blood. He's immunity to fire can be due to a shield he carries but even that should have narrative limits.

I could keep going on but I'm probably five years too late to start complaining about the story as you are already 300k words in, but still, these are my thoughts so far. Oh, and Gaige is an absolute dumbass to release so much private information on an echo-stream where people could easily learn of her location and her family. Forget Jack who likes to play with his food, any random bandit could off her parents now that she confessed to their involvement in her machine and escape.

I'll keep reading as there is a severe shortage of Borderlands fics let alone good one, but my expectations have sadly went down a little.

Just started this fic, first off I highly doubt anyone would care about some war 3000 years ago. We know Roland enlisted in Atlas in the 29th century but it's implied that it's not Announced Domini but rather the beginning of another calendar. Reiss should have compared Kai's (silly name imo, but not a deal breaker) gun to Jakobs' straight away, rather than later in the chapter. It's description reminds me of the Elephant Gun you get in Borderlands One when you finish the mission to hunt for Skagzilla.

I'm not sure if Tigers exist to these people lol. Again, Reiss should have compared the wolf to a native animal. An Alpha Skag perhaps?

love the fic. can't wait for the next chapter. question, do you have plans to include the Easter egg that's in the caustic caverns? I hope so, it's one of my favorite parts of the game.

Happy New Years! And another great chapter! I wonder what will happen with Kai and Gaige being alone together once again? Im excited for a new chapter and the future of this story. Firstly, I don’t know if its just me, but i feel like Kai should take the voice disguiser, having the voice of the man you despise would be kinda ironic in a sense. Secondly, I don’t know about the clan wars, I sided with the Zafords, but idk, thats just me. Thirdly, Idk about the Excalibasterd tbh. And finally, very indecisive on the baby being a boy or a girl. Anyways, keep up the amazing work!

I'm happy you're still writing this. Kai should get Excalibastard, and I want Moxxi to have a girl. It'll be cute to have a mini-Moxxi running around her space bar!

Not quite the ending I was expecting to the chapter, but oh so worth the wait though!
I cackled with glee again when Gaige and Kai showed up and unloaded on the rakks, and reading the log for the weapon.
Also, crystalisk familiar for the pair? or pet? its just too cute of an image to think of: Kai or Gaige with the little guy perched on their shoulder, especially with Gaige on DT's shoulder.
All in all, a good chapter to end the year on, all the better to anticipate the insanity of the coming years chapters with too.

I recently got into playing the Borderlands games and I gotta say they are simply amazing games. With Gaige easily being one of my favorite characters. You Kilo8 have delivered an AMAZING story! Both of your Rebel Wolf stories. I cant wait to see more chapters!

honestly was enjoying the story until what made the character unique no longer made him unique he's no longer the only survivor of planet and the ai that his mother personally made for him isn't the only ones now there are 2 that are literal copies of his aids data and he's also pretty much a punching bag for gage anytime he does something wrong
