I'm really confused and conflicted. Esme and Carlisle were awful. She says she beat Charles to save her son, but she does not even attempt to leave him. They promise Elizabeth that Esme will be out of their lives. But she does not leave. She keeps in constant contact with Carlisle, keeps her memory alive, keeps talking about Edward being the product of their love, like they are just biding their time to get together at most opportun moment. Why? If they loved each other, why not try and fix it? It is so sick, specially from Carlisle's pov, to betray his spouse in such a continuing, hidden and obscure way. I'm sad. This is sick. I'm pissed at them. And I feel for Elizabeth, something I did not think I'd say, considering the beginning of this tale.

How can he love her already? And be so okay with everything? I guess it'd be harder to accpet
