Ilvermorny the American school for magic. she was friends with a horned serpent to her line had squibbed out , of course the magics lost track of it. let face it Lily was vary smart and good friends with Snape if she could speak it he would have warned her about speaking parseltong around the pure bloods so she would not do it. God knows they would have killed her a mud blood to them that would be unforgiveable

He’s evict her forcefully, if she somehow managed to get through the wards, harry being Sirius heir would probably be able to get in and be safe from kreacher but I doubt kreacher would obey him, at least no without seeing some of the portraits respond positively to harrys Slytherin traits

Gotta admit that for a moment I had thought that Newt meant a Maledictus, especially a very specific Maledictus when talking about another snake species. I've not yet watched Crimes of Grindelwald, but I've read a few stories with Nagini after the movie came out and considering this is fan fiction as well (and you had already changed that the Tonks' are living in Grimmauld Place and that Nym is younger) it could be that Voldemort had met Nagini only shortly before Wormtail had found him...
But a horned serpent will be interesting as well. :)

Apart from another basilisk, that's probably the most impressive snake he could possibly have obtained. Large, famous, extremely magical, has an entire house from a major wizarding school named after it...
I applaud the choice!

I do hope that Parseltongue is more than just an ordinary language, though. If it is something that can just be learned by anyone, that really detracts from the significance of being a Parselmouth at all.

I actually had a theory about that-and why Parseltongue is considered dark magic. We've seen snakes that Parselmouths have talked to develop the ability to read, to have conversations, to emote, and generally behave in ways the snake brain is physically incapable of accomplishing. So what if Parselmouths were labelled as "dark" because every time a Parselmouth opens his mouth around a snake, he's basically creating an intelligent creature right there on the spot? Or possibly even creating a tiny pseudo-soul?
