I like this a lot. I love the friendship and loyalty between Legolas and Gimli. You should continue with this story, I'd love to read more of it. :)

| Windy Darlington chapter 1 . 5/26/2017
Aww, that was really well-done! I love how you show them starting in animosity and growing to be friends! Bravo! A truly epic friendship!

I have been waiting for this- I love Gimli and Legolas' friendship, and your story compacted it so nicely and made me ship them even more! I love the dialogue, very Tolkien-esque. Usually when authors combine canon conversations with their own dialogue it is awkward, but yours is a smooth transition

This is a wonderful study of Legolas and Gimli and how their relationship developed over the time of the quest. A perfect piece for the prompt and so very well written as usual I was not surprised to find out this one was yours. :)

I love this look at Legolas and Gimli's friendship! You do such a great job of showing how they bond on multiple levels, especially in terms of drawing on their backgrounds, which are referenced so sparsely in the text of LotR. The references to their shared experiences in Lake-town, as well as their different perspectives on Gandalf's fall are really well-placed. Overall you do a great job of comparing and contrasting both their cultures and their personalities.
In the first scenes, I also enjoyed how much Legolas seems his father's son. That level of suspicion and mistrust - all while remaining inarguably "Good People" - is every inch Thranduil. It's easy to see that Legolas' misgivings about the abilities of the others in the Company have been engrained in him by the environment in which he not only grew up, but is in fact a leader, as you emphasize in the passage about the message to Thranduil and his likely reaction to Legolas' journey. Just another splendid way you incorporate his background into this story.
All in all, this is a fantastic character study for both Elf and Dwarf - I very much enjoyed it :)

This was a great story, and I really like how Legolas goes from complete disdain and distrust to entrusting Gimli with his life. Great job!
| Frodo's sister chapter 1 . 5/17/2017
I like how you have Legolas come to a new understand of Gimli, and how they progressed from enemies to friends.
| ziggy3 chapter 1 . 5/16/2017
Great fic- I love the way you have traced their friendship from that initial dislike and mistrust, without over analysing it. Smashing.
| thyndolhen chapter 1 . 5/16/2017
A wonderful story, I like it a lot... It's short but very great explained to me, and I would like a continuation of how they both travel together on new adventures as a great friends... I am curious also how Thranduil will receive back his son with his new friend... I am looking forward for new stories to read, thanks for sharing

It is very good, the way you lead me through all the stages of this relationship is graceful, and I dare say, part 10 is probably the endearing description of a thoughts of warrior in battle I have ever read
