I specially love your Hermione because is a strong character, not weak. And what I can say about our Severus? Also perfectly in canon. And I’ m sorry that I didn’t read if before; I came across your work after re-reading one of my selected works. Howevwe, I’m a litlle dissapointed after discovering that you have only written one work with our favourite pairing. If you are still on board, I encourage you to write more!

Great story! I loved it immensely

This is a really interesting deviation from canon actually that to me makes sense in the context of your AU. Hermione in canon was there with the horcrux. All of the horcruxes seem to hurt people who definitely should have known better. Dumbledore put on the ring, Ginny wrote in the diary, the Trio wore the locket. I have no doubt that if they had been able to find the diadem and cup they would have been compelled to wear or use them as well. I think part of the dark magic of the horcruxes is that they compel the people who have them to interact with them, thus allowing the soul inside to influence them to act in the soul’s interest. Protect them from harm and eventually get them into the hands of someone who will help bring the soul back to physical life.
Hermione here isn’t with the horcrux though so she’s beyond its influence and able to think clearly.

Noooo! I loved this fanfic so much! It's exactness and the way it stayed so close to canon. That Hermione is actually like the book Hermione and Snape is like Snape (apart from visiting the Grangers and playing cards with them which I just pretend didn't happen). And then it's it's all blown when Snape starts smoking. I'm ok with Snape doing his Snape things as long as they are in accordance with his character and can be believable. But him smoking... I think not. Smoking is an addiction and considering his character and how he hates weakness.. . He would despise smoking, would be plain disgusted by it. I'll try to play pretend again and hope that it's the one and only time this happens in the story but I'm super bummed. There are so many brilliantly beginning fanfics and then suddenly for reasons unclear to me authors choose to alter the character and as a result the whole story just crumbles.

That‘s a wonderful alternative to JKR‘s DH! I like it much better than the original. Thank you so much!
