I loved this story Aragorn is very brave.
| Chewiecotton chapter 1 . 1/30/2011
very good story. I love the fact that Aragorn can comfort even horses as they die.
| Catmint chapter 1 . 2/13/2004
Oh wow. This is incredibly beautiful. You made me cry.
| Dragon-of-the-north chapter 1 . 3/2/2003
*sniff* This was so sad! But a beautiful story nontheless. I especially liked the way you linked the passing of the poor, old horse to the sundown - it was moving. *sniffs again*
Aragorn was portrayed in a very good way, I like your version of him! You should definitely continue writing LOTR fanfiction!

I really, really enjoyed this story. I have an old horse (though not a war horse by any means!) and I think you did great justice to the bond between horses and their riders. I sat here and had to write this review with tears blinding me. The good kind of tears. Thanks for that.
| Angel chapter 1 . 2/28/2003
Wow! I do not think your story depressing at all.I find it heartening, encouraging and of course so vastly different it has climbed up to the hilt of my good s. err I do not have a sword lol.
My MAN being the KING and of the noble character that he is would pay tribute to a friend that has kept him in good dang gotta get out of these puns lol.
I was panicking at the start worrying over who would worry Aragorn so lol.
I like the subtle element of surprise here, and the striking colors of the sky against the waning of Roherryn's life.a very good match!
| Meldewen Ilce chapter 1 . 2/27/2003
Darn ir but you made me CRY with this story! As someone who recently got into horses, and learning about their personalities, I cried for Aragorn's loss but it's so easy to love these beautiful animals, especially when you go through some much together as Roheyrn has with Aragorn.
Again, nice job and great story!
| DragonWraith chapter 1 . 2/27/2003
*cries* That was so beautiful.
| arynetrek chapter 1 . 2/27/2003
wow, this is good. and no, this hasn't been done before (to my knowledge).
i think you should write more LotR fanfic, you're a great writer (we need more of those around here!)
| nanana chapter 1 . 2/27/2003
wow. this is so touching and really gets into the heart of aragorn, the moments of love he expresses for others. and the fact that he feels such love for his horse is so refreshing, proving that love doesn't just come out of a romantic relationship; it comes from everywhere. the devotion of horses to their masters (and vice versa) seems to be a very special thing indeed in the books. tolkein would have liked this, i'm sure :) good job.
| Infinitys-End chapter 1 . 2/27/2003
You made me cry over Aragorn's horse! Congrats, because it is rare I find a story on this site that does more than make me either wince or maybe smile. Also, I love the new angle you have brought to LOTR. this poor equine too often gets forgotten in tales. Thank you for a wonderful story.
| emma chapter 1 . 2/27/2003

| Bill-the-Pony chapter 1 . 2/27/2003
Congratulations Run on an excellent job! Original and heart-wrenching in regards. There are far too few stories centered or even including dear Roheryn. Though there were a few equine anatomy and logistic mistakes, they hardly took anything away from the overall refreshing non-Mary-sue plot. It moved at a good pace and closed with a great quote. Aragorn's grief is well understood, I understand all too well the pain of loosing one so close as your horse. This one struck home for me.
Excellent job and look forward to more Equine related work from you.
