nerfing/ taking away your mc's skills is in the top 10 list of things not to do. should have just rewritten the last fights to me more strategy and less power, then you could have character development be what he did during initiation. Now all the readers are constantly going to worry about their favorite things being retconned. Makes it quite difficult to care about a character when the story doesn't.

game stat dump is boring. And you make your own job harder when you add skills like "shield bash" etc. I would recommend combining skill into one when you can. Like "Swordsmanship" Less skills there are - more attention reader have. It's difficult to care when MC have stat sheet with tens and tens of skills
