Great battle scene!
Krogans are awesome.

Go Wrex!
Lowar chapter 18 . 5/21/2018
I liked the battle scene. Too often I see writers degenerate into focusing on every little aspect of battle they can think of and the flow is wrecked. You told us enough, told it well, and kept the flow going. Well done.

Noice
Noneofit chapter 18 . 5/21/2018
The ancient Australian aborigines (and many other indigenous peoples around the world) line up and throw their spears at one side while the others dodge until someone dies if one group accidentally kills a member of another.

Love it 10 of 10
Forsaken139 chapter 19 . 5/20/2018
Don't be too embarrassed Gina, not everyone can be a morning bird.

Once again, Turian's are resolving conflict with fists instead of words.

Looks like Humanity is off to a decent start.
Forsaken139 chapter 18 . 5/20/2018
Poor shaman, having to put down troublesome warmongerers.

Whelp, Pluto is down a moon and Humanity is up one Relay.
Forsaken139 chapter 16 . 5/20/2018
A brief infodump, the best infodump: geting the core exposition across without meandering.

Historical-exposition is useful when an author wants to do timejumps while giving the readers adequate context.
Forsaken139 chapter 17 . 5/20/2018
I wonder what Wrex has to say on the infantry versus tanks versus mechs debate?

Humanity taking baby steps into the stars.

decent stuff. semi agree with some about the main battle tank stuff. eezo core would be able to manipulate the mass of the tank so it can drive at current speeds which is usually around the 70 to 85 mph range on road and 50 to 70 mph range off road with much thicker armor. giving a mbt a mass effect based rail gun and pintle mounted hmg using m.e. tech and you have a ridiculously dangerous vehicle. hell krogan usually go heavy armor. scaling up a personal kinetic barrier to encompass a tank wouldnt take long anyways. m.e. tech is all about mas manipulation for the most part. heck with m.e. tech its feasible to have the armament of a mbt on an attack chopper solely because you can use eezo to manipulate the mass. honestly it could even work for firearms as well and not in the way m.e. weaponry works normally. but i wont get into that idea here. too long an explanation. however i will say improving current tech with m.e. tech wouldnt be hard. even with current ways of doing things.
keep up the good work and dont wait so long to post this. it far too enjoyable to wait so long. lol

So happy to be alive!

OK, I'm out. The blatant wanking of ME tech is too much for me. ME2 had armor for heavens sake and it WORKED. Remember YMIR mech? Compared to MBTs YMIR had armor made of tissue paper and it still took ages to burn through it WITH anti-armor weapons. Good luck with the same thing when MBT is shelling your position and the Chest High Wall just got obliterated.
Secondly, MBTs are fast. This isn't WWII era when Tigers could be outrun by a good sprinter, MBTs can easily travel at highway speeds on highways, slower outside them. This is more than enough to dodge a projectile from low orbit.
Anyway, logic 'it can be hit from orbit' can be applied to everything, why invest in infantry when it can be bombed from orbit? Why invest in gunships when they can be sniped from orbit? Why invest in vehicles when they can be taken down by orbital weapon fire? Why bother defending a planet at all when you've lost the space battle?

awesome stuff
Artyom-Dreizehn chapter 19 . 5/20/2018
I really like how many details you gave towards the Sol system instead of the usual Luna and Mars that overly noted too much. Will there be also Space Colonies, Stations, ODP and Elevators here if your willing to expand the expansion of humans in the home system and the Human ingenuity in this universe?
