I really like this premise. It's really interesting

Cool story so far.

I read a lot of first contact fics and this may be my favorite so far.
That said, if you are going to do a first contact war, PLEASE don't get lost in it. Too many times I've read awesome fics that just die off in or right after the war when the after-war "hey council, f-you" can be just as exciting and way funnier.

I think an assassination attempt needs to get through to Wrex, just so he can critique their technique.

Heh, wonder what Wrex will make of the Archives should humanity find it. He might suggest looking at the more recent data and that humanity do a careful study of the archives before doing anything. Of course that may come after him trying to calm down everyone on the planet. Mass Effect canon may not have some historical event where discovery of the Prothean ruins on Mars had caused the kind of rioting that would allow humanity to forget stuff, but it's a nice theory for how certain technologies only show up by being "invented" after the trilogy's start. Whether they're invented by humans or other cultures is irrelevant.

Definitely makes one wonder what humanity will be like when they take to the galactic stage.

Though it sounds like Cerberus might get an early start...

What displeased me in the mass effect series is eventhough they're advance and great, they're really in the low end of space opera scifi tech when compared to other franchises, and how unconvinced I am in the idea of humans being united in the next century, so standardized and so on and how the hell I see humans expand so far that it is so stupid as they already know that there are aliens out there and we are known to be unconciously xenophobic in nature. I wanna see our tech more expanded, seeing space colonies(see the gundam series) and space stations not just a 5km Arcturus station(still small), also space elevators(this is proven less expensive in commerce and fuel consumption). Mechs that are more grounded to reality and fills the gap between a tank and a man(like in titanfall not mobile suits because exceeding 9meters is detrimental in our 1g but in space so so) and also can make transport in commerce more faster(they're like mobile cranes and more versatile forklifts) and in battle more useful as a generalize heavy infantry in urban areas where tanks are so vulnerable and in heavy terrain(steep mountains and jungle). only reason we didn't have them is that our tech standard is still not good in strengthening the components and far too expensive because the materials used are still expensive for us. Anyway, sorry about the above, so few AUs out there that seem to see Mass effect and use and refer other franchise tech in expanding the mass effect universe, as of canon, they're too large but a bit bare for me as I still go for UNSC than System Alliance when it comes to tech. Anyway! Love this fic! Thumbs up and looking forward for the next one!
