Another great story from a favorite writer. Thanks!

In the first part of this fic you have Hary sitting up after a nightmare about Ginny resurrecting Vulturewurst and realizing that Ron abandoned him and Hermione yet again. All I can say to that is " That ain't nothing new! " First year at the chess game faked a more serious injury than he had. Fourth year immediately after Harry's name came out of the Goblet of Fire. And now on the Horcrux hunt. Things get tough and Ron gets going. There's also the fact that he ate far more than he really should've. So, it's his own damn fault they don't have enough to eat. So, let him go running back to mommy to complain and stuff his face as per usual.

This is a good fic but I have 2 problems with it, unfinished plot lines and unnecessary plot lines. Honestly the damaged core thing seemed thrown in for no reason, Harry already had a self reflection moment earlier in the fic about how his dreams of having a true family were impossible with pretty much anyone other than Hermione, that could have been easily extended into wanting to leave the wizarding world because his dream of family would be destroyed by a post war wizarding world that worships him. Hermione’s torture injures are also rather annoying, Hermione barely does anything in this story besides making the portkeys, and then she seems basically written out of the final battle with the injuries, it feels like a major disservice to her character for no pay off at all. There was an interesting plot line of how Ron accidentally guiding Snatchers to their location, getting them all caught, but then after they escape that plot point disappeared completely, then Hermione immediately takes everything Ron says at face value once they escape even after he indirectly caused her to get tortured.

I forgot: Why collect water and use a purifying charm? Just use Aguamenti to conjure perfectly clean drinkable water. Or are you one of those who fell for that stupid it's-conjured-therefore-it-can't-be-safe-to-drink fanfic trope? Well, it IS safe to drink, according to all actual sources I've ever seen. Gamp's law is about food (nutrients and such), not water.

Wow, yeah, let's take what Ginny said and twist it in the worst possible way anyone could come up with.
For anyone with a brain it should have been obvious that all Ginny said was that she knew Harry wouldn't be happy hiding somewhere while other were out there fighting and dying in a war ending which he considered to be his duty. And she was right, wasn't she? Harry never wasted a single thought on the idea of not fighting, having others do it while he went into hiding. That's how he was. And there was nothing wrong with Ginny loving him for being that kind of person.

So, excuse me, but I'm getting out of here, before this stupidity that your story seems to be based on infects me as well.

Hermione disappointed me more than any other character in the book series and in this story. but then that's her defining trait of humanity that sets her apart from a 2 dimensional book character, right? the stark reality that people can disappoint one. really really disappoint one..

That ending was such a fucking cop-out. Why bother building the story and conflict up like that if you're just going to shit the bed in the last chapter?Usually I enjoy your stories, but... fuck it I'm done.

Great story, but I sorta wanted Ronald to get his ass handed to him and then stomped on!

You have done an excellent job of portraying two individuals who have been through the battles and know what it will take. The process of getting them from point A to point B in their relationship is built slowly but anyone can see where this is headed as it should be. I have never liked anyone in the Weasley family except Bill, Charley and the twins. Molly is an overbearing bitch, Ginny wants the world handed to her on a plate but she is always gonna struggle until she can get over being possessed by Moldyshorts, Percy is a git, Ron has no qualities that will ever see him as partially successful (he would fit right in with Crabbe and Goyle), and Mr Weasley is so hen-pecked or beatdown he is worthless.

Yea! Oh my god, just read that dream sequence, haven’t gotten any further. Had to comment: fuck yes! Happy fighting Voldemort? What the fuck bitch!? When I read that shit the first time I closed the book in disgust, after reading for 8hrs straight that day (no food, no water, no breaks whatsoever. I know not healthy, but I didn’t have school(8th grade) and blessed to have no real responsibilities yet sooo). Anyway, I closed the book in disgust put it down gently (still fucking Harry Potter! And it was brand new hardcover) and walked away. Didn’t finish the last few pages till the next day, and have hated canon pairings since.

You’d have to completely rework one or both of them to make it supportable, but as they are in canon? Bullshit. Just like R/H.
