I'm eager to see you exploit that skillset to its fullest when the final battle arrives. Plus, Emerald's ability always did seem a little off to me, so this explanation actually makes a bit of sense. Lord, I actually kinda feel sorry for her, being burdened with sanity amongst this lot.
