I go through a lot of different fandoms and I've favourited a LOT of stories since I joined this site... 8(?) years ago. There are a lot of well written stories that I like here. But I find it kind of interesting how in each fandom there's that one story, or sometimes handful of stories, that are a league above the rest. That are just so full of depth, imagination, characterization, creativity, and emotion that I just want to live in the moment I finish it and reread them over and over and over. This story is that for me in the Legend of Zelda fandom. I cannot thank-you enough for writing this story because there are no words that can possibly convey how much I love it. I felt grief and humour watching the story unfold in the game the first time I played it, but reading your words and version of events was absolute agony and joy. I know it'll be one of the stories that I carry in my heart for years and that I'll reread it many times. My only regret is that it took me 3 years to come back to the Zelda fandom and find this gem. I have to admit that in the beginning I was disappointed to see that Link wasn't the silent swordsman the game portrays him to be, but the personality and dialogue you gave him more than made up for that very quickly. So. I give you a standing ovation on a spectacular piece and many thanks.

I found this long after you updated it and spent the past couple days reading through it with passion, I’ve intensely enjoyed you’re view and take on the Breath of the Wild story and the next time I play through it again it will have so much more feeling. You’ve added so much more story to the main characters and side characters and it flows beautifully. Thank you for taking the time to create this for others to enjoy! Wow never in my life have I cried reading anything. Those last two chapters of Calamity Ganon left me in tears. I feel like I’ve been through so much with these characters and to lose all of them was so tragic. The slow burn of the romance was straight up agonizing and then when ganon made his return it all just... didn’t matter anymore in those moments. I love the interludes and your ending was so perfect it all came together, every piece. I finished this hours ago and I can’t stop thinking about it and I can’t shake this anguish. Even with the happy ending, whichthank you so much for that.. I’m a bit of a mess. God damn what a ride.

Your wickedly delicious slow burn would have kept me reading, but the various twists and turns and characterizations were absolutely icing on the cake.
You’ve created a fic that delves into the immense losses of a world ripped apart by the Calamity, you certainly don’t shy away from exploring that pain fully. Like you said, Nintendo kind of glosses over the gaps they leave, and you filled them so, so well. Thank you for sharing so much of your time and self to bring such depth to this world and infuriating/enthralling your readers with the antics of the star teenagers! The character development was so heart warming, real, and your plot twists still have me reeling! I was on the edge of my seat the whole time.

Not only was COTW my first Zelda game; this was my first Zelda fanfic. You held onto the story and the feel of the game well, and I was impressed by the words you put into a silent character. You’ve done a fantastic job, and you’ve created one of the best fanfics I’ve read in a long time.

Thanks for taking the time to make this story. You can tell the effort that was put in.

(Also, great job on showing love without it just being graphic sex, as it often becomes on this site)

You just don’t know hoy much your fic has giving me this difficult time of quarentine. I started reading it in March of this Year and tried to be very disciplined with reading one or two chapters per day, and if i wanted read it twice. Your fic help me to stay distracted of what was happening in my city (Guayaquil, Ecuador) I was working with no day off the whole month as a night shift recepcionist in a hotel with Covid inffected people that couldn’t got out if my city. And the night shift were so hard emotianally ‘cause i had to watch the ambulances in the late night and that was terrible for my anxiety. I was away from family and my significant other. But your fic got me There, everynight. It was awesome! I am still in quarentine at home (I got Covid) and had to reread it again Because is so daaaaamn good.
Chapter 36 blows my mind! And woooow.
Thank you so much. This is the BEST fic of LOZ. Got me inspired! I really wish someday you could write the sequel with BOTW 2.

Wow... just wow. This story was soooooo good. In the past two days I read this story in its entirety because I simply didn’t want to stop reading it. As a long time fan of LoZ and of BoTW specifically, this story gave me a love for it in a new light. Zelda and Link were perfectly depicted and rounded out as the complex characters they are through the complex situations that they were forced to go through. I always thought BotW was a sad story myself (maybe crying at some of those last memories) but never had really put a whole lot of thought into it. But this story really drew those emotional moments out and more than paid up for it with the happy ending Zelda and Link deserve. This story really helped fill in the blanks better than my own imagination ever could. I love this story and am so thankful for you and the time and effort that so obviously went into it. (It would have been torture having to wait a week for each chapter cause that’s just how good it is!) So thank you so much again! Saying this story is a 10/10 doesn’t really do it justice so instead I shall give it a 100/10!

Hi, I’ve been loving the story so far and this chapter was great BUT would you please maybe consider adding a trigger warning for anxiety to the beginning of this chapter? My own anxiety has made me feel and act much like Zelda did here. It was tough to get through some parts of it, and there were quite a few paragraphs I only half-read. If anything, this means your depiction of that sort of panic was very well written. However, I do believe it would have been easier to get through it if I’d been forewarned.

Also, Link is one sexy asshole. I both want Zelda to punch him for going behind her back on the talks, and kiss him. However, Zelda, too, deserves being punched for being so impossibly dumb even after 100 years. So I guess they kinda even out and just deserve each other in the end.

I absolutely loved the complexity of this fic. I've read many fics across many fandoms, and if I'm lucky there's always one fic per fandom that I really just love for how it depicts the parts of the characters that I felt close to and how it respects the world, and I think this is the one for the LoZ fandom for me. Thank you for sharing your work with us.
