Reviews for One Last Year
FrostyChops chapter 45 . 6/11/2019
This was a solid Breathe of the Wild/10, utterly perfect.
Read this over the course of two days and I simply could not stop. The sheer volumes of grief and pain, as well as the unfathomable amounts of love these characters felt was powerful (and frustrating at times, god damn it Link just kiss the girl already!)

All in all this was a more than worthy story for this game, you did damn, damn good.

KaChan84 chapter 45 . 6/9/2019
This story (and especially chapter 36) is so amazingly brilliant. I just came back to reread it and it hurt so much (in a good way, mind you!). You have a way with words, especially in these angsty scenes, it honestly made me feel what Zelda felt.
So thank you for this amazing story! I hope there will be many more to come :)
ttwings chapter 45 . 5/30/2019
I just read this story in a single day, almost non-stop from 3 AM to 7:30 PM. Needless to say, I loved it. I LOVED IT! This is one of those fics that I didn't know I needed until I stumbled upon the first chapter and then full-on bulldozed to the end. I am so grateful that you took the time to write (and complete!) this story. Thank you.

kaycanada chapter 45 . 5/16/2019
By far my favorite rendition of the events before the Calamity awakens. Stumbled across it a few weeks ago as I returned to the world of Fanfiction for the first time in years, and I've already reread it a million times. If only this were a book, so my tears would stain pages instead of my keyboard. It certainly reads like a true book (and I've read a few in my lifetime), from the timing of chapter endings to the switching of narration, to the inclusion of minor roles that really help identify major character development, to zero grammatical errors (basic or complex). Honestly. Amazing. Wildly breath-taking, if you will. Again, thank you for blessing my life with this art.
English-Lady1920 chapter 45 . 5/14/2019
I just want to say...wow. Thank you so much for taking the time to write this incredible story! I started reading this a week ago, and I become obsessed pretty quickly. I couldn’t stop reading, desperately wanting to see what happens next. It was hard, with the slow burn, but I’m very glad I took the time to throughly read your descriptive and emotional story because the ending is so satisfying that I can’t stop smiling! It’s been two years since Breath of the Wild came out, and I still have times where I just start playing it again, ready to discover something new. Link and Zelda was my first pairing ever, and I always come back to them because their stories are beautiful and glorious. Your story has completely satisfied my want (for now. I’m sure I’m going to read more sometime soon!) for a beautiful zelink story; but it has also satisfied my want for a story of the human experience, of grief, and of love. Thank you so much for writing this, it’s one of the most beautiful stories I’ve ever read. I’m sure I will come back to this story again, and read it, and feel the same emotions I do know. Thank you again!
Guest chapter 45 . 5/4/2019
On Friday, May 4th, 2018, at exactly 11:36pm, I finished this story. I've grown a lot over the past year - or at least I'd like to think I have - and I have this story to thank for being the little push that set that into motion (as silly as that sounds). I thank you, truly, for everything. For writing an amazing story, and for helping me feel better when I was down. Every single Friday of 2018 was an amazing one, and I'm so glad that I got to be part of this experience. Thank you.

TheTruthAboutThe WallFlower chapter 14 . 4/21/2019
This story is so absolutely charming. I think I’m in love. I absolutely love your characterisation of literally everybody. It’s so immersive and wonderful. The interaction between Link and Zelda, in both timelines, make me want to cheer because it’s so amazingly REAL. I feel like I’m them whenever I read their point of view and I didn’t know it was possible for me to love Link anymore than I already do but you have accomplished that so easily. Your characterisation is literally the best, you blessed soul. I’m so excited to read the rest. I’m gushing so much right now. I can’t even fully express my love for how you’ve portrayed these characters, you actual goddess.
stormysea chapter 45 . 4/8/2019
This was auch a great story. Read it all in three days because I loved it so much I hardly put it away. Thank you for sharing it!
Wyvernwalker chapter 45 . 4/6/2019
Funny enough, I did start with twilight princess as you mentioned. And i believe no one has captured the themes and true feelings without the romantic tension and idealized versions of them like you do. As someone who has had to grieve for much of his life for those he loved, you truly brought me back to my first playthrough of BoTW where I squealed at every scene of love, and cried like a wee babe when I finished. Thank you for this wonderful work that I had to binge, like any sane person would. Happy trails, and keep writing!
Shatter.Shot chapter 45 . 3/26/2019
wowwwww... you really hit the nail on the head with this story! well done! If you ever decide to publish original work, seriously let me know because I'm a huge fan of your writing! you exceeded expectations in capturing the grief and loss of breath of the wild that I feel many fail to grasp. excellent work! and I enjoyed that while this story was a slow burn as far as romance,,, it wasn't overplayed,,, and ultimately took a back seat to the real forces at play which were grief, loss, courage and hope. expertly done. 10/10 five starts
Peppypear chapter 43 . 3/24/2019
Simply beautiful. A wonderful resolution after 40 chapters of slow burn 3
Peppypear chapter 27 . 3/24/2019
"Please," she implored, and her hands balled into fists. "Please don't say― Don't say―"
"I felt nothing," Link answered, the shame and sorrow warring within. "Just a sword coming free of stone."

This broke my heart
