Reviews for One Last Year |

![]() ![]() ![]() Signing my name on the guest book, this was beautiful. There was a solid two months where every Friday I waited for your update. You created the politics to the world and showed them in a way that made the characters grow. Link, asking about conflicting vows, Zelda breaking as Link refers to her by her titles, Riju nervously asking for Zelda's support, and Link agreeing to dance with Zelda are just a few of the moments that stay with me. Moments that haunt Life throws similar feelings in my face. Thank you for writing this. |
![]() ![]() ![]() so overall it took me seven hours to complete it xD and i didn't take any breaks while reading this because this story is just phenomenal. I didn't even know that a human would be capable of turning the Events of botw into such a beautiful story , like honestly, i am not exaggerating a bit! This was like a roller coaster ride, my emotions hit their highest points, and u gotta admit, i cried a river. This fanfic is a masterpiece, it should be read by everyone who is a hardcore zelink shipper. what i really liked about this fic, is that you managed to connect everything with each other. The development of the relationship between Link and Zelda was amazing and realistic. When i read the moments with just the two of them, i literally could feel the suspense growing under my skin. I could feel all their feelings. What also makes this fanfic one of ny favourites is , that its written from Links PoV. Many people arent able to write a botw fanfiction from Links Pov just because he isnt showing any emotions at all, but you, you gave him so much complexity, his character is extremely relatable in my opinion. |
![]() ![]() ![]() This story made me feel a lot of emotions...It made me cry and rejoice. It kept me waiting-seeking- for more hehe, but I'm not sad to see it end. "All the great things in life don't last long" used to say my uncle, "but the memories of them...if they still make you feel things- maybe like the very first time-, then you'll know they were, truly, the great ones." I never got to be a writer myself. I am clumsy and my grammar is not that good, but it was a dream I had. So, while feeling down about it I found this incredible website and started to fill my heart with all these amazing stories. So...what I'm trying to say is...Thank you for writing one of them. I'll treasure it like many more I have read and yet to read...here...embedded in my brain, heart and soul. Gracias, de verdad, muchas gracias. P.S. Sorry, for the bad english. I'm not a native speaker hehe. |
![]() ![]() Just amazing |
![]() ![]() ![]() This was a wonderful story and I am glad I found and followed it to completion. It was satisfying and cathartic in a way J can’t quite put into words. Your authors note about OOT and how BOTW ties into it emotionally for you was a familiar thought as well. Thank you for this great story! |
![]() ![]() ![]() I don't have the words to describe how incredible this story was. Your depiction of the grief underlying Breath of the Wild was beautiful and haunting. Thank you for gifting us with this work, and I look forward to future stories. |
![]() ![]() ![]() The only bad thing about this story is that it’s over! I felt so many emotions while reading this and I want to thank you for creating such a wonderful masterpiece. I’m looking forward to reading more of your writings. Keep up the great work! |
![]() ![]() ![]() What a wild ride. I laughed, I cried. I'm completely happy with the ending but I also feel like I need more. Your story is so freaking perfect and it's kind of become cannon in my mind. This is the first and last botw fanfic i will ever read... I think you've said all that needs to be said. ALSO THAT FOUNTAIN PRAYER SCENE. GURL THAT WAS JUST. YES. SLOW FREAKING BURN. I WAS IN AGONY FOR 45 CHAPTERS... AND I LIKED IT. |
![]() ![]() Thank you for this, and for all your other works. Thank you very, very much. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Firstly, congratulations on the success this project had! This had quite the reader response, and that deserves a round of applause! So congrats! Secondly, this was a fantastic story. From beginning to end, it put Breath of the Wild in a new perspective. I played BotW and was left disappointed by the story. But you, you took everything the game gave us and spun it into a story that, in your typical fashion, had me very invested in the characters. I started playing it again recently, and I think I appreciate the game much more now. Its story might be on the light side, but these subtleties you’ve brought to the front in this story actually surprised me that they were in the game, as I had assumed they had been your artistic freedom. BotW is told best through the themes and stories it doesn’t tell, leaving the player to put together the narrative as you have. So well done! That’s a rather shallow way of summing up the past 45 weeks of updates/entertainment. Thank you for giving us this treat. I will be looking for your next project, no matter what it may be. You’re a fantastic writer, so keep writing! |
![]() ![]() I never wrote reviews before because english isn't my first language and my writing is not very good... but it's the end! So i'm gonna try! ah ah I just love your storie, you were my saturday morning gift. the way you presented the characters of Breath of the wild and their past was like i imagined them. Your storie answered all the questions I had about what happened before Ganon arrived. Damn my english, I have so much things to tell you! A huge thank you and I hope you will write something new soon! :) |
![]() ![]() ![]() Wow. I have been patiently waiting until the end to write my thoughts down. Part of me regrets that, as I feel as though now I can't convey all the small moments, all the fleeting emotions that each paragraph conjured. I fear that I have been reduced to a meager "Wow". This is the biggest piece of fiction I have ever read, beating out the last one by 48k words. It took me a week to read, between getting ready for an overseas trip and curling up in the hotel awake from jetlag, but every moment I was away I wanted nothing more than to come back and continue reading. Part of me is sad I found this fic the day it was finished, so I missed out on the excitement of waiting for new chapters, but being able to binge it one chapter after another was also wholly satisfying. There are several pieces of literature on this site that I find myself coming back to every once and a while, rereading them to relive the emotion and wonder they sparked. Without a doubt, I can say this will be one of them. I'm even recommending this to some friends who have never touched a Zelda game, but you such a marvelous job at expanding upon the universe and its central characters and events that I believe they can enjoy a story about a knight and his princess just as much. Thank you. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Absolutely one of my all time favorite Legend of Zelda fanfics! My first Zelda game was Link to the past, so I’ve been around for a bit but not for 40 years. I am so in love with your writing and how you played out all the characters! Just beautifully done. Was so easy to feel connected to Link and Zelda and I found myself crying on more than one occasion. You know it’s an amazing story when you can move people like that! 10 out of 10 and I can’t wait for your next Link/Zelda fanfic! |
![]() ![]() ![]() This story, with it's gargantuan length, brought forth a lot of those emotions you described in your final message to us readers. I've been playing BOTW casually as I've been reading this, and while I at first wasn't pulled in by the method which Nintendo utilized to tell the games story, It was this piece of fanfiction that has tremendously enrichened my experience with the game, and my appreciation for the world and it's characters. I fondly look back on moments such as when Link played with the rito children while Zelda had her inspection tour, the arduous wait outside Gerudo town and it's flirtatious inhabitants, Link and Zelda trekking to pray at the sacred altars, and many more little moments. Your link is so relatable for me, his logic and stubborn determination are too real, so real that I could sympathize with him from beginning to end, and poor Zelda's character was so palpable, and the underlying hurt so vivid. I am thoroughly impressed by the sheer amount of detail you put in here, and the heroic effort you put out to make this into a complete packadge with your friend. (spoiler) This narrative structure of flashback and present worked out brilliantly with the reveal of Link being more aware than he let on. This genuinely blew my mind and caused to look at the game in a different way, no longer am I an aimless fool trying to enjoy a this huge game, but a resurrected hero with a Real Goal. What you've given me was so meaningful that I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this story to another fan of the game as Mandatory Reading. (End of Spoiler) I'd like to end this gush by giving you a Rock Solid 10/10 score. I''m not literate enough to be critical so I won't waste my time trying to force out any embarrassing nitpicks. Thank you so much, I'm looking forward to your next piece, be it ambitious or small. For me, you are an inspiring and powerful writer. |
