Ok, it's official, Jaden is under some kind of influence. You know? I'm surprised Jaden didn't use Plasma or a mixed deck of D and E heroes in the original series. (as a one time thing, of course. Calm down Aster fans) Like how Vegeta and Piccolo never fought... wired, isn't it?

Once he snap out of it, and see what Yubel and the others were doing behind his back, as well as finding out why people disappear after dueling him in his childhood... it has to be the last straw at this point.

"Meanwhile at the legion of doom" oh, they jumping Yugi! That's for sure. Is Reggie still planning to free her father?

Trust me Jinzo, everybody wants to play like Yugi. Putting one copy of every card in your deck, the adrenaline of drawing a last ditch effort card, going back and forth with your opponent. That's every duelist fantasy.

Oof, defeating Zane by out muscling him is no small feat. High attack power is his thing after all. You definitely cemented him as a threat.

Don't take this the wrong way, but not a fan of "lier's reveal" trope, because it follows the same formula, they get angry, depressed, then go "wait a minute, maybe he/she wasn't that bad" and get back together.

However, like all tropes, it's all about the execution. Zain surprised me with his reaction. I honestly thought whoever wins, Jaime will face his wrath all the same. It makes me want to know everyone's, as well. That's not to say they shouldn't be upset, I fear Erin and Alexis' the most. But we have multiple characters with different personalities, so they should have different conclusions.

Didn't see that one coming, Blade Knight actually acknowledges he wouldn't have gotten stronger if the switch didn't happen. But he lost my sympathy the moment he tried to kill Zain, Erin, Bastion and Ishtar clan, as well as attempting to enslave Sonata and talking about Alexis like she's some property.

Amazing as always.

Wow, there's a lot to unpack here... sorry for being late to posting, but I needed to get my thoughts in order.

Man, your duels are getting more and more insane!
The kind that makes cards like "Reckless Greed" and "Legacy of Yata-Garasu" seem overpowered. I love it. I think Yugi is the only one that can stand up to Adrian at this point (maybe Kiba too?)

This chapter was really rough on our main cast.

First of all, Aster:

Damn... I wanted him to get a bit humble, but never brutalized like that. At least Yubel won't be able to talk her way out of Jaden's furry once she gives him the Destiny hero cards. (Good thing you kept the predaplants in her deck like "Starving Venom", despite Yubel's support for story continuity)

Chazz:

That reaction from his brothers was way too real. Not the one everybody was excited for, sure, but it does give his character something to strive for.

And then there's Blade Knight, while his frustration is understandable, the people our Jamie befriended are not his. I doubt he'd ever accomplish half of what Jamie did if the switch didn't happen.

Finally, we'll get to see him duel! And against Zain? Now that's going to give us a good idea on how much of a threat he really is. Because being called a strong duelist by Yubel of all people, is quite the high praise.

It was... really rough hearing Jaden calling our Jamie a snake, for some reason. I guess the simplest of insults becomes more impactful from the kindest of souls.

Yubel, Adrian and Kaiba don't seem to catch the hypocrisy behind their speeches. (I could go deeper, but I'll leave it for others reviewers to dissect it better than me)

Random thoughts:

What makes characters like Adrian and other "visionaries" think their world won't make the same mistakes as this one? That is a special kind of arrogance, don't you think? Oh, you acknowledge your bloodshed? Goodie goodie gumdrops, I guess we should give you the keys to our nuclear plants. Just don't do anything we'd all regret in the next few centuries, you little rascal.

Ok so let's do a summary. A player from our world, who was passionate about Yu-Gi-Oh, forgot in one turn, a strategy (very shaky by the way) consisting of not leaving a monster on the field to avoid the summoning of Cyber dragon? Okay, let's move on, anyway the strategy was crap, he would have just ended up taking an ultimate cyber dragon in the ass. But on top of that, this guy, even knowing the Goat Format, forgot the trap card banned right after this format? The trap that every little kid playing Yu Gi Oh thinks of when he hears "Trap". The thing that everyone in Goat format has in their deck? In the style of "I put an absurdity to steer the story the way I want" I give you a 100/10 dude. Especially since, if you forgot the mirror force, he could have come across a Sakaretsu armor, a ruin, a bottomless trap, a magic cylinder and other super common stuff... Are you sure your guy had already played real Yugioh in his world? He didn't just throw his cards like a ninja, huh?

Shit is getting lit and it must suck to make the hard decisions for Jamie.

Well, cat is out of the bag now and Jamie doubled down and lied further to his closest set of friends by now, makes one wonder if he'll just kill the original Jaime or leave him trapped in the Duel Monster Dimension until the day he dies so he can keep his lies straight, then again, it wouldn't matter if Jaiden showed up and told everyone the truth anyway...

As always, a great chapter and really looking forward to how the battle of Jaime vs Jaime will go!

Wow, Jamie in Blade Knight is so similar in Jamie in personality, etc, so no wonder why Jamie was place in that body. While life isn’t fair, Jamie would have been a nobody if Jamie didn’t took over his body and he took adversity into his strength which is impressive for Jamie the Blade Knight and while he is right, he is wrong as well. While the Jamie in Blade Knight has hone his skills in the battle field, Jamie is a meta player of our world which means he was all ready a pro level which came to Yugioh world and knows the strength and weakness of many decks since he played for and against many types of decks and who would win? Even Jamie has to struggle against Judai as the Supreme King and Jamie is one of the few people that could beat Yubel and that includes Jonan, Kaiser, Adrian, Seto, Joey and Yugi and they have struggle mightily to beat Yubel.

I really wonder how the Jamie issue will be resolved. They're both right, both victims of a higher power. No doubt the duel will be bombastic. Considering Jaden and Yubel could see them from above, its possible they'll show up somewhere through the duel too, which could complicate things even more.
Either way, this feels like the definitive "Beginning of the end", so to speak.

Ugh, took me forever to get this review out... I could read it through crome, but I wanted to review with username attached and my phone immediately takes me to the app to do that and the app wasn't displaying the chapter.

Poor Jinzo, his projection of himself would still be accurate in several formats nowadays... but not the one he's currently in.

*reads Blade Knight's rant* Yeah... sure... because there wasn't any life or death duels throughout "Jamie's" entire venture since coming to the Island... not a single one.

Next chapter is getting hyped.

I picked up Melodious in Master Duel because of this fic, which I had started reading all those years ago. Im excited to finally see Refrain and Couplet!

...also, sheesh, I dont think I appreciated this before, but was Jamie really playing Melodious in a pre-Ostinato world?
