Oh man, I just reread this entire thing and it might be even more heartbreaking than the first time. It's soooo good and everybody's reactions to Ron are blood-boiling. Harry and Hermione seriously owe that boy an apology, and man are they going to regret their actions when they realize that Ron's future plans are basically suicide. I can't wait for an update (for this and all your other stories)!

I can't get over the details you put in. The devestating effects of wars and how it destroys families...no one could do it better than you. Thanks for sharing your writing.

I'm convinced Elone is Penelope. there's an anagram in there! but I'm not sure what the rest of the name is supposed to spell. care alert? something French? and gosh I'm dying for Harry and Hermione to know Ron is spitfire, and to find out how Ron's 'horcrux' is attached to Harry, and how they will make Ron whole again. I guess kill Harry, which is why horcrux!Ron keeps saying to just kill Ron so that can't happen? So much happening in this story and I love every second of it.

I noticed you spelled a few names different than in the book (Faux vs Fawkes, Nagina vs Nagini etc) is there a reason?

Wow, this story is amazing. I loved Stay Standing and eagerly waited for an update during the five years it took to finish but this, this is a whole other level of great. The way you write the characters, even if they are AU is so true to them. Your world building and character creation astounds me and the way you manage details in the plot are great. I reread the fic just recently and I picked up on details that I missed out on. Is it alright if I start speculating and formulating theories for the story points that are currently present? I think I know who has the Horcrux, I think it's Harry. He got it in Chapter 3/5- Gaping Hole. He got it from Scabior in the Final Battle. That's how he's been seeing Ron! The part of Ron that got removed-his passion,his being Spitfire, was taken from him when Voldemort performed the act. That part of Ron's soul latched onto Harry when he got the necklace from Scabior somehow. I also have a sneaking suspicion about Elone Pep Trearacel's identity. I think it's someone who's been trying to help victims of the war and has been experimenting with different potions. That's why Percy had a very stark reaction to seeing her picture! I have no idea where you're going to take this story next with these in mind. I'll be eagerly waiting for the next update and Thank you so much for this story. Your characterization of Ron is one of the best out there. If you're going to properly write and publish a novel, I would gladly purchase one, if it was as epic and beautiful as your other stories have been. Thanks once again for this beautiful fic. Love this story! Rereading it because I loved your update and really wanted to remember everything that happened prior. Was just reading this chapter and noticed a time mistake. It says Ron was captured in summer 1999 but then Harry defeated Voldemort January 1999. I am guessing it was supposed to be summer 1998. Just wanted to let you know!
