Shame Wendy’s moving, but nice she’ll be visiting when she can. Hope to read more with her before she goes - still disappointed she never got her own episode even after she evolved from simply being ‘Dipper’s crush.’ Waste of a character, especially considering she was probably first person who preferred Dipper to Mabel, which would mean a lot to him.
Also good to see how Mabel chose to go through with her confession to Ryan instead of simply pretending it didn’t happen. That almost never goes well.

Love potions always cause chaos/hilarity. Poor Dipper, guy can’t seem to cathartic a break. Then again, wouldn’t have this problem in the first place if he bothered with the occasional shower.
Read more than one fic that implied there could be something between Wendy and Thompson. Not many but still apparently more common than I thought. Personally, I try to be realistic about pairings and try not to dismiss any ship, as long as it’s healthy. As long as they’re happy, who cares if it isn’t what I’d imagine for the characters? That’s what fanfics are all about.

Very exciting for a mid-season. Was also surprised Bill came out so fully, I thought he’d bide his time a little bit more. Then again, Bill’s never been the most predictable and finding the gun was probably an opportunity he couldn’t afford to pass up.
Also excellent dialogue between the charactors: Mabel and Derrick (you know Mabel’s upset when she swears), Dipper and Melody, and Soos and Melody. Little bit of character dynamics and growth is always nice.

The whole Wendy's mom arc was really good. I like how you tied her in with Ford's travels without going off the rails in what we already know canon-wise. Despite the end of the mystery being totally depressing, it also seems fitting as it leaves room for Wendy to mend her relationship with her father.

Poor Ryland. I didn't suspect at all that he had malicious intentions for discouraging Mabel's presence at the finals, he's too sweet of a character. Ghost-Eyes entering the competition and Gideon supporting him is hilarious.

Rationally speaking, Dipper's right: there's absolutely no reason for him to be jealous of Evan. But based on how the summer's already been going for him regarding Ford, how hard can it be for him to fall into his old insecurities? Guess I'll find out!

Maybe I've mentioned this in a review before, but the way you write can be so easily pictured in my mind it's like I'm actually watching it. I'm sure most of this can be attributed to how true you've stayed to the characters so far. Excited to continue reading this, and want to let you know that I seriously admire (envy) your writing endurance and creativity!

Surprisingly emotional and bittersweet chapter close to a mid season. Mixture of emotions with the Stans on the run, then reuniting with their brother and the sadness of their parents and knowing they can’t reconcile. The things unsaid are usually what haunts us the most.

I can't help but imagine Wendy's mom's voice as Reba McEntire. I have no explanation as to why.

This whole Corduroy family mystery drama is very interesting! It's definitely up Dipper's alley to be investigating Wendy's past, despite Mabel's many warnings. Looks like they found out the truth in a much more intense way than expected.

Looks like Stan's turning into a bad influence on Wendy. Guess it can be partly chalked up to how she was raised, too. Found it a little surprising he became something of a rampant criminal- I guess that's the result of being cooped up watching Abuelita's Spanish soap operas for days on end.

Holy shoot, that ending was creepy! I got chills. The shape shifter was easily one of those spookier episodes that just kind of makes your hair stand on end. Derrick was my first suspicion on who the shifter was imitating, but that ending proved me wrong.

I can unfortunately empathize with Mabel- it ain't fun having a guy pining for you even after showing and explaining very clearly that you're not interested. Thankfully I can't say I've been kidnapped by said guy and his entourage, though.

McGucket making "improvements" to his and Ford's lab went just about as expected. Can't completely blame the fella, of course, considering how he literally lost his mind until only four years ago. Ford's exasperation of him but their eventually resolution was picture perfect. Also I love that McGucket arrived in the middle of the woods by helicopter and that he is involved with Area 51.

Poor Wendy. As many life or death situations she's been in, how many others has she literally been seconds from gone? As long as her summer in Gravity Falls lasts, it'll be interesting to see how she deals with this.

Good thing that cologne doesn't affect family, because yeesh! That's some disastrous invention Ford's got there. Dipper's reaction to the whole thing was so perfect for him, i.e. him freaking out and constantly asking what the heck is going on. Good thing they were able to disguise the event as a sort of
crazy shared dream, because in the words of Toby, I don't think any of them would be able to see him the same way again, and vice versa.

It's too easy to get caught up in unrelated drama. I appreciate how you wrote Stan and Ford's reactions to being sorta pushed aside; it seems very true to their characters, and of course how they eventually made amends with their niece and nephew.

Nice comeback with Wendy's friends. Thompson's development is honestly hilarious. He looks and acts bolder, but otherwise seems not so much different from four years ago lol. Loved the flashback of them in the fifth grade, too.

Looks like everything's working out alright for Mabel and Ryland then, despite the many things that could have potentially ruined it! Glad she didn't brush off the experience of him overhearing her confession as part of the "dream." Even if it isn't how she would have wanted him to find out, never pass up on the perfect opportunity, otherwise you might just end up keeping your feelings to yourself your whole life.

These OCs are the most interesting I've come across in a while. Good to see Mabel isn't completely blind in her infatuation for Ryland. Then again, she's always got Dipper there to help her. Also glad Ryland didn't turn out to be a jerk and was willing to own up to his mistakes concerning his brother.

I thought it was a stroke of fate that Dipper was losing at everything too, lol. Nice for him that there was an actual explanation.

I liked the little tidbit with the Stan's. I don't know if I could survive off toast for that long, but hey, if there's a will there's a way. Ford's unorthodox choices on his inventions are so him, and Stan's reactions to them are spot-on.

You've got a way of writing that just makes the story come alive, and I'm really enjoying it thus far!

So I originally came across this story through a Google search engine and never read the summary until after the second chapter. I wasn't expecting the sudden four year time lapse, and usually I would have skipped over a story like that, but...

You got me hooked very quickly to the storyline. I admire the use of Tracey and Quattro! That was clever and the subplot including them was exciting. Yes, the use of OC's can be a quick turnoff, but you can't really make a sequel without them, especially not back in Piedmont. I think you've painted them in a light where they're in it enough to be interesting but not overbearing.

The whole thing with Derrick has me thinking, too. I wonder if it's only a coincidence that Dipper doesn't remember seeing him since before the eighth grade, and now suddenly he's drawn to Gravity Falls- along with all the other weirdness in town. Though based on Ryland's reaction to Mabel's stories, maybe something happened to the weirdness?

This story looks to be a good read. It isn't often you find an episodic fanfiction that strives hard to remain true to with the original series.

Love that Mabel brought Waddles to school! Seems right about her character.

Oh boy, looks like Dipper's in for a ride if his new friend and Mabel don't get along already. Interested to see where this story goes, and impressed you're back to update it after all this time.

In all seriousness I’m surprised the Stans haven’t had other birthdays with similar situations. Especially Ford, if he’s shared them with a particular drunken friend during his inter dimensional travels.

I’ve had a thing for giant ants since I saw the film Them! as a kid, so this chapter resonated with me. (Yes, I know they’re not technically giant.) I especially liked their unrealistic expectations for King Dipper (cool of him to be made their king no matter what the girls said) and the treatment of Calvin. Poor Calvin. I sympathise.

Yeah, Mabel can be a bit polarising with her behaviour sometimes. Poor girl does struggle with Aesop Amnesia. Which can cause trouble. Hope Dipper gets a win soon though, considering the trouble he had in this trilogy of chapters. But constructive criticism is fantastic- one of my favourite reviews had plenty of it, really taught me how to improve my work
