I binged Gravity Falls and then continued to read this story over the past couple months. I really enjoyed this fic and it's actually one of the few fan fictions I've read that I felt really captured the essence of its fandom. The OCs even feel really natural in the story (although I was weirded out by Ryland at first I realized it was only because he was so normal compared to other Gravit Falls residents XD). I love all of the characters so much I can't choose a favorite. You should be really proud of your work.

I can’t really think of a 4th of July title, but you should have like 1 Canadian dude celebrating Canada Day.

Anyways, there’s no need to be ashamed with the time it took you to write. I have 2 longfics, 1 started in 2016 and another in 2017. Both are only passed 100K words and what you’ve done was amazing.

Then again, the 1st one I’m slowly losing interest because I dedicated in too much worldbuilding. Too much content can make an author lose inspiration. Luckily the 2nd Longfic I was more careful.

Both were planned to be around 500K words btw plus co-authoring another fic and helping others in a few other fics. Plus college life? Yeah I don’t know why I put too many things on my plate. Maybe it’s because I have a need to do so many things and experience them. Sagitarrius ftw.

Take your time. Quality of quantity. Some authors are despaired by the number of likes or favs, but you know what? I didn’t give a shit. Write what you want. I’ve had like 2 other fics that didn’t even reach 100 likes and another 2 that barely broke the plane. The long fics are at around 500 and 400 and my goal at this point is to get them done. Used to care about getting 1K likes but I realized that it doesn’t matter. Not like I’m getting paid anyways.

It’s all practice for when I get serious in the future. For sure I’ll credit fanfic authors that inspired me including you if I ever make a Star Wars movie or tv show.

Nonetheless, I’m excited for what you’ve got cooked up for July. Maybe that Kingsman idea I told you once may come in play. Maybe Dipper and Pacifica will finally get together. Maybe Derrick and Mabel bury the hatchet. Maybe through demonic rituals, Gompers is turned into the Goatman.

You know, I had an idea of what if there was a secret group (Not Society of the Blind Eye) full of super agents who’s objective is to keep the potential threat of the paranormal from the real world.

You know, a badass group like the Kingsman or the Statesman. Origina? Someone got a hand on a copy of Ford’s notes when he was younger and saw the creatures of GF him/herself. Then they formed this group, full of outsiders who were affected by the paranormal in GF somewhat and they knew about Bill Cipher.

Weirdmaggeddon was their first test. They couldn’t get in because of the bubble surrounding the town, but they mopped up the rest of Bill’s creatures after his defeat.

Using the creatures they captured, they created some sort of radar to detect anything similar to Bill’s energy and now, they’ve detected his return. Now they’re on their way to finish the job.
