Hey man, this chapter was a rough read. Very well written, but it hurt to hear about the pain and suffering of the characters I love. Good job. I don't know how much of Lee's story is your own, but if even a fraction of it is pulled from your experience I want to say thank you for sharing this, it's helped me understand myself and others better and interface with this world on a deeper level. Man, this was a tough story to finish, and to like. I definitely did the former, and I'm pretty sure I'll achieve the latter. I like to read Worm fics to find the stories you wanted to write. I'm currently just left with a feeling of emptiness, a literary blueballs if you will. On the other hand, I have other stories to go read, and you have poured quite a bit of yourself into this one. I want to make sure this review doesn't sound like it's only criticism, because it was an amazing story. It just ended too much like a Stephen King book for my tastes.

Pretty sure this ending was meant to convey a different message than it managed. It was supposed to be about the righteous versus the wicked, family values, and whatnot. Instead, it turned out to be a tale of simple, vulgar incompetence. Its message is that yes, indeed, no matter how much power you have, if you think good morals absolve you of the need to think things through, you are in for a nasty surprise. A naive and incompetent guy thought that he didn't need an army of advisors, nested plans, brainstormings, much of any help with pathing forward. He was wrong. He lost. ...his undeserved second chance kind of ruins this.

just had a thought. If he was able to copy Regent's power when it affected him then why couldn't he copy Glory Girl's aura power when it affected him? How are we defining his ability to only copy powers with a physical effect? Because technically GG's emotion aura 'physically' affected his brain right? How else would Amy have been able to see the change when using her power to examine him?

The author ruined Herb in my mind. He basically betrayed the MC so he's now an enemy no matter what and it's weird as hell to see the MC and Herb interacting like nothing happened. I'm also beginning to see why this story is so long. It's because of the nonstop monologuing.

Well this rushed not-end-end kinda ruined it for me. After hating and hoping for herb's death for like 100 chapters, at the end I was fine with him, but the whole everyone just leaves him, except taylor was totally meh and that's where the rushing has started. The last few dozen chapters were just fighting,timeskipping to fights,power-thingy and Taylor-time, the last two actually enjoyable. Sadly it felt like Author got scared from that 1mill words or dunno, and then decided to finish it fast. People got forgotten, every not absolute close buddy just stopped existing in the story. I know they became ireelevant power-wise or something like that, but that should not have been an issue. And really nobody gave a fuck about him, except Taylor? Really? His dysfunctional 'family' is one thing, I just wanted to read them die as they deserve it, or just humiliated like everyone leaving his brother or things like that. But Amy (obv before getting mastered) liked him... and it was just gone seemingly? MP? Sherrel? Before Levi there was a lot of Vic, Dean, Amy, friendly wards etc. and they just gone. All of them. So not satisfying. It was just depressing towards the end, everyone leaving, don't caring, dying or things like that. I would have rather read 3 mill words (okay, I like long but good stories) that has the details of the first 150-200 chapters. Whatever, I'm kinda just ranting here. I really enjoyed this story, your writing is exceptional, like your humour. Characters were written really well, they just disappeared (okay, I'm stopping). Thank you for your hard work, hope to see more and more!

Well... that sorta explains how Herb works. Still no less frustrating. I personally would have dropped such a "friend". Lee is too understanding and willing to blow mental and emotional gaskets for his own heart. Luckily, he has Peak Condition. The deuteragonist is also supposed to show character growth in a different way. His characterization just seems unreal that I've just decided that his powers, probably replication, is negatively affecting his ability to think and reason.

Okay so... this, among many other chapters cements the fact that, while Lee has the intelligence, he often doesn't have, or doesn't make use of smarts. It leads him to firmly believe his misconceptions about things, like armor. It also shows in how he's his own blindspot in terms of his abilities, and probably affects his power usage. It shows that he's not a perfect character, which is generally a good thing for a story to have, leading to moments of character growth and introspection. Being roughly a third of the way through the story, I'm hoping to see more character growth as his power-handling would (hopefully) grow.
