In refrence to what Iroh said about how thw whole firenation needs to make reparations and even if some didn't participate, they still benefited? I have to point out the war caused suffering within the firenation as well. The earthkingdom is equally racist towards the firenation. Just because the firenation started the war, just because one man started something, does not justify the blaming of an entire race. That's called racism. Not reverse racism, it's just racism. No one should be blamed for the circumstances of their birth.

I'll leave you with this. Germany started the first World War. Germany suffered from the first World War. The rest of the world demanded reparation from Germany for the first World War. This devastated Germany so much that it allowed someone like Hitler to take charge in the hopes that he would cause their Nation to prosper again. This led to the Second World War.

At some point in life, you need to stop the cycle. No one can heal if the past isn't let go. Not to say it should be forgotten. What human kind is capable of should always be remembered, but whatever RACE or nation did it, should not be blamed forever. The children of the firenation should not be blamed, reguardless of the privilege of their birth, if you can call it that. You saw how the firenation citizens suffered. They don't owe anyone anything. Only those responsible. Iroh, Ozai, and some corrupt generals. Conquered land should be given back. Firenation colonies should have a choice of becoming earthkingdom citizens or going home. There's no such thing as an entire race being responsible for something. That's just plain racist.

I absolutely loved this story. It's exactly as it should've been on screen. Great writing, too. I hope you write more Zutara stories in the future!

I'm french so sorry for my bad english... I was searching for Zutara fanfic, because in the french fandom there so few... And I find your fanfic !
With not a lot of chapter, so I find the courage to read it (yeah sometimes I'm a lazy girl), and I don't regret it.
I love the development betweem Zuko and Katara, it was so soft? Sweet? I don't know if the word is correct for what I want to say XD
And you explain why I don't like Katara x Aang, because she is the main female character, and Aang is the main character (and imo, they don't match eachother, I prefer the dynamic betweem Zuko and Katara) And I really don't like this fact, for me, for that two characters should be togerther, they need a good dybamic, and I don't find this in the main couple in Avatar.

In any case, I really enjoy this fanfic, one of my fav in this fandom!

Cries my eyes out, for a moment I thought Zuko was going to die, but wow all of that chapter was so good I can't even point out a bit I enjoyed most lol.

I was smiling like a Muppet when Katara came and apologised to Zuko about not telling him about the change of plan. Bonus points for the big.
I also loved how you had Katara stay close to the tent after Zuko went inside, that apology scene always tears me up.
You wrote the final Agni Kai amazingly, I read it with wide eyed. Ooh Noo that ending.

Comforting, Confessions over feelings, laughter, wisdom etc, this chapters talk contained a tonne of stuff I cannot hope to comment on it all.
