Discrimination against women for example seems relatively less. I mean, literally this decade it was illegal in Paris for women to wear pants. I can't recall an instance where any race based bullshit happened in the books, zee 'orrebell dialect aping being the closest I can think of.

I mean, it's intuitive to imagine women's rights being abridged in HP, it looking vaguely Victorian or something, but I don't recall if there's evidence.

Thank you for continuing this story! You've done a great job matching the tone and feel of the original fic, and I'm excited to see what happens next to Harry and Lash. I was not expecting the addition of Tracey to Harry's circle of friends/support network, but it's great that he's getting (even subtle) support from inside his own house.

Also, Sally-Anne and Harry are adorable.

Sally was able to accidently access a form of true/wizard sight. Since she likely had it on for a couple of days, I doubt it seared the images onto her brain. I wonder if Harry could create a foci to allow a form of the vision for himself, to augement the one that allows illusions to be dealt with. It would improve his magic detecting abilities

Great chapter, I'm glad this fic is being continued. I'm curious, was Lash's 'mental noise' like some annoying sound to block out Harry's thoughts, or did she control what thoughts could be read to only give Snape taunts and such like she was voicing to Harry while he read.

Every time we get to see things from Dresden Files in this world, I get a little bit excited to see the differences between the two. Seeing as we're going to have some sort of- I don't want to call it a confrontation- between the red caps and Harry, well, I'm just looking forward to it!

I'm very interested to see what you do with Lupin. I'm always excited to see different versions of him as compared to canon. As I said last chapter, I don't understand why Snape is allowed near children. Though, this chapter- I feel, screams of Dumbledore's involvement as far as he goes.

I'm glad to see Tracy becoming more involved with the rest of the group!

Now, bringing in Tonks as a mind healer and the 'replacement' of Lupin; at the very least with regards to the patronus charm: Interesting! Very, very interesting. I feel as though she might be an adult that Harry might actually be able to trust!

I wish to thank you for taking up SilentWatcher's story. I absolutely love this moral yet crafty Harry.

Dumbledore doesn't how lucky he is to have this Boy-Who-Lived. Hopefully Harry's desire to learn the patronus charm will put some of his fears to rest.

Considering the (relatively) large amount of female friends that Harry has acquired and his interactions with them thus far, I am worried that he will start acting like the cliché shoenen protagonis. With a skull that is denser than that of neutrol star when it comes to notecing romantic attraction. Harry is third year, that means he is thirteen right now. You can probebly still get away with him being oblivious for another year, but puberty is a monster that comes for us all. Canon Harry started notecing girls in his fourth year, I think. . . Please don't be afraid to tackle that subject.

I'll echo the rest of the reviews and say that I am really glad that someone picked this story up. I think you've done a good job of taking the foundation given to you and moving forward in your own direction. I think staying at Hogwarts, even if it's not Hogwarts, playing up the Welsh thing, having Harry take comfort from his Veela friends, and the subplot with Sally Anne really show that.
I like the bits of difference here too. Sirius and the Dementors and learning the Patronus all make sense but can become overwrought stations of canon. Having Andromeda here to teach Harry, a very different school for Sirius to sneak into, a different set of friends, and different motivations for Harry really seems to be setting up something unique like silentlywatches did with the Diary, but hopefully not as relentlessly depressing.
Anyway, keep up the good work and I look forward to finding out what you have planned for this year!

i was confused for the longest time as to why tonks was a healer, then i realized it was Nymphadora's mom
