![]() ![]() ![]() i've never sympathized w Caelum so much |
![]() ![]() ![]() I finally got to read this story and I must say: it is so good. I enjoyed every bit of it! |
![]() ![]() ![]() oooooooooooooooooooooh What a badass ending! Marvelous fanfic of a marvelous fanfic, thank you so much for this gem. Very moving, deep and true to me. I love your interpretation of the "real" events in Caelum pov, and I love just as much the events you added to finish up this story. |
![]() ![]() ![]() I really enjoyed reading this fic. I thoroughly appreciate the way you have taken the time to flesh out Caelum's history and experiences, especially with regard to his relationship with his mother, and the new layer it adds to familiar scenes and dialogue. Caelum and Harry's interactions were already one of my favourite bits of Violet's work, so getting to explore them from a new perspective is lovely. I also think it is quite impressive how well you have managed to fit in the original dialogue so that it does feel stilted or out of place. The ending is probably my favourite bit. Having dragged us into Caelum's mind, you do a wonderful job of showing how his perspective shifts, and then for Caelum to choose to send imperfect work not just to Harry but to two near-strangers, including the implication that it is a potion designed out of necessity and experience? It's such a powerful example of the vulnerability, bravery, and risk-taking behaviour Harry (or at least the idea of Harry that Caelum has constructed) seems to inspire. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Caelum is so in character for this I want to cry. I adored reading this, and while I definitely wish I hadn't stayed up till 5 am to finish, I'm also glad that I did, because your writing from this perspective is wonderful. I wish there was more- though considering this is 34 thousand words I'm certainly not complaining. The last line definitely shows how Caelum understands Harry, and how, if she's not woth her family, then she's with Leo. Thank you for writing this, it really is brilliant. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Kit, I come back to this fic whenever I have a pressing urge to read all of the mbm series but only two hours to spare. This is a masterful piece of work, one that fleshes out Caelum's actions and motivations. You turn this bigot into someone annoyingly charming. Into someone, that while in no means is a good person, is someone that yearns to be recognized. You are so brilliant at bringing minor characters to life- the personality you breathe into them permeates every re-read of the original series I do. Thank you for your stories- they make the world a better place, I'm sure of it. |
![]() ![]() ![]() omg omg omg this is amazing! I love it so much and i wish there was more! seeing his pov is something i missed in the series and the way you had harrys secrets unveiled ajdkdk i lovethroughout the original fanfics ive been wanting Harry to get recognition an the ending please |
![]() ![]() Thank you so much for writing this! It was beyond amazing and you developed Caelum's character in a fantastic way! |
![]() ![]() ![]() I have a weakness the size of Jupiter for prickly tsundere characters. I think you’ve completely caught the essence of Caelum’s character. You took what murkybluematter started with, and stretched it out and fluffed it up and filled it with goodness and angst and conflict… and the end result betters the experience of having read the original work. I loved reading through the gradual softening towards Harry, and the gradual strengthening of him against Bellatrix’s abuse. Reading this was a rollercoaster of emotion. I know at this point it’s AU, but the open-ended, hopeful ending suits Caelum, and it suits how we’ve ended each story in the series too. Tbh the closing ranks around Harry/Rigel by each of her friends and family gives me some much-needed closure while I patiently await the next chapter by Violet. *wipes a tear* In the end they all still care for herrrrrrrr! As a foil to Harry, Caelum is one of my absolute favorites. You kept the antagonism, but then it moved and changed to something more… perfunctory, I suppose. He’s a titgoblin for sure. But he knows potions, and that he can respect her ability and who she is without respecting what she stands for makes him very 3D and very human. In the end it wasn’t just the potions we made along the way that mattered, but also the friends we made. I think that’s a big theme of the original series, and I think you did it justice in your story too! -c4 |
![]() ![]() i always favoured harry/caelum. Like, yes this dipshit is a blood supremacist. but, to take this in a narrative sense, we could eliminate love interests that Rigel meets cause lbr, that relationship wouldn't be healthy cause it starts with a lie. Draco would start to resent Rigel more and more (I really doubt empathetic abilities is going to quell his insecurities), Aldon... eh, he's not even top 3 so we could forget about him. Pansy, was she even an option? Nah. Alright, moving on to the dudes Harry meet (jeez, this story is so good I don't even mind how heterosexual it is) Leo. Okay, I'll admit I find him really creepy. And it's because you could really feel their age gap. You can't forget how weird it is this 19-20 year old is hitting on a 12 year old. I get defensive when this happens this real life so seeing it in fiction squicks me out. (But if Violet goes to this route, I'll would accept it. I don't read the story for the ship, it's all in good fun) Caelum is so immature for his age. He has so much to grow out of. If there is some god forbid miracle Caelum finally grows out of being a blood purist, his acerbic nature and compeitive attitude towards Harry could even be called cute. Hell, they're pretty equal on the maturity scale. Dude, imagine post-series Harry is this Newt Scamander type where she travels around the world and hasn't show her face in Britain for a long time. Imagine her reuniting with Caelum at a foreign country, they find themselves going back to bantering with each other comfortably and do potions together. Some slow burn shenanigans. Just imagine them being adults and just fall for each other. Imagine them spending their honeymoon scouring for rare potion ingredients. okaay, i'll stop. again this is just me having silly fun. other shippers pls don't kill me. if the OG author is reading this, just ignore it. go your own flow. i'm obviously bias. hell, i still disgusted i'm giving excuses for this ship but still hating on reylo. it's literally same shit, different dressing. aight, peace. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Honestly, I really love this. I kind of love Harry's tumultuous relationship with Lestrange and her dogged positivity masked as a blood lust only he could evoke. Thanks for shining the light on some of our darker cast. :) |
![]() ![]() Rereading this after the most recent Futile Facade chapter. Love your characterization of Caelum, it fits so well with Violet's story. I hope this recent chapter inspired you to write more! |
![]() ![]() ![]() Omg this was so good. It’s so late rn I can’t think of how to write a good review for this. I’d love to read more of it. Why do u think Harry’s gonna be discovered eventually? |
![]() ![]() Read it again. Loved it. Thanks for the entertainment. |
