I come back to this story and reread it a few times a year. I need the reminder sometimes that while magic is maddening and overwhelming and exhausting and deeply unhelpful in a world that would see it dead, it's a part of me and how I experience the world and that's something worth holding up into the light. So thank you.

This is amazinf - I read the first chapters im a gulf, the universe and people being so intriguing. Can’t wait to read the rest.

Is it bad that I want a sequel, or even just an epilogue to show that they went on and did something great? That they changed the ending of the story, that Arthur’s mortal wound didn’t kill him, that his wizard showed up in time to save him with their crazy magic?

Now that’s a twist. Harry being right, his father and Theo’s mother being friends, working on finding magic together. Damn I love it!

I have to say this. I know not everyone is the same. But I will always advocate a bipolar person maintaining their meds. I’m not saying Theo needed to be on ALL of those, because he probably didn’t since he has another method of coping as well, which is good, but the experience I’ve had with someone who is bipolar, he went off his meds and the highs were great. But when he hit those lows...he became emotionally and mentally abusive, violent and angry, and paranoid. He even held a knife to his wrist after we had an argument. It was the first and only time he’d been physically abusive, he slapped me. Some conditions can be maintained without meds, I don’t feel bipolarism is one of them. If that makes me sound like a bitch, then so be it. I would just never want anyone else to go through what I did.

Sounds like Theo’s most obvious coping mechanism is his manic episodes. Concentrating on that one thing so hard and so long as to avoid the shit in his life.

Well now Harry gets to see just what kind of dick the elder Nott truly is. I’ve seen nothing to indicate Theo is taking Harry away during the weekdays when he’s working, which leads me to believe that Theo is right. His father doesn’t care for him a bit. Yay! First kisses and grand gestures!
