I didn't know Amaya was also a Japanese name. It's quite popular in my country, but it's an Euskadi name.

Personally I think the reaction of 16 year old Sakura to the fact that her "soulmate" is this highly respected Uchiha, who trained Sasuke, the best friend of Itachi and quite experienced in his work and also older than her, it's very well explained in the fic itself. She had wanted someone with whom she could grow up and get better together, so the revelation of this older "tensai" makes absolute sense to me.
But calling a 24 yo a "much, much older man" in the AN, referring to a 16 yo girl, that doesn't make sense. He is in fact older, but he's 24, not 42. If she's 16, in only 4 years that 8 year gap wouldn't really be such a big deal. I really dislike when, in a ShisuixSaku fanfic, he's described as "old", they're only 7/8 years apart. He's not "much, much older".

BTW Sukui is not a canon character, doesn't exist in the manga, it's anime only. I had to google because that name didn't ring a bell.
