Oh. That was unsatisfying, to say the least... I had hoped for a positive development in their marriage, but... oh well. Elizabeth is like a child... no real feeling of a romantic kind. She plays with her botanical toys, and that's it. Darcy is spineless. He can face pistols but not ask for more in their marriage. That's sad. And now they will abandon Pemberley for good. It was a fun story in the beginning, but it got stuck on the mysteries with no character development. Mercifully it ended, as it was not moving forward. Thank you, it was fun for a while...

Well, after reading Chapter 21, I came back to the beginning of the book(s) to discover why Miss Bingley was no longer a part of the story. Unfortunately, she was given too much laudanum by just about everyone in the house who wanted her to sleep soundly and not disturb anyone with her annoying mouth. She must have received at least six doses: Bingley, Jane, the housekeeper, her abigail (2), and Mr. Hurst.

Wickham arrived and was not able to fool Elizabeth because Darcy was a guest at Longbourn along with Mr. Collins. Elizabeth knows the truth, and she also rejected Mr. Collins' proposal. Mrs. Bennet was angered as usual, and Mr. Bennet allowed Elizabeth to have her way.

Now Darcy and Elizabeth no longer want to leave each other's company.

Good luck with homeschooling! I can imagine the trial, especially when the Internet goes down or the image simply freezes.

I will have to backtrack and read as I am totally unfamiliar with this series. I appreciate you sending it. Why are Darcy and Elizabeth married if there is little romance, nor do there appear to be children forthcoming anytime soon! What happened to Miss Bingley?

Elizabeth at least seems to have a knack for solving problems. I am surprised that she finds Pemberley too tame and quiet, especially since she loves the country and long walks. Has she changed that much?

In the end Weasby lost more than what he gained in the will; his fortune, control of his niece's estate and most likely influence over his sister's life.

I really like your story! Your depiction of Elizabeth and Darcy reminds me a little of Tommy and Tuppence from Agatha Christie, but can you please have them fall in love with each other, and not just a marriage of convenience? I think they already are, but it would be nice to know, even though the focus of the story isn't on romance.
