Review for chapter 23, part 2.5?:

Wow, what a wild ride that was. Ise's armour change for his new form was great as he took inspiration from Sairaorg. I liked how that turned out, especially his mane. In terms of Ares V Ise, it was decent, although I am a bit disappointed in a way, as Ares did not clash with Ise himself, and it was just his soldiers. I guess that will come for another time, considering he is the main antagonist of the story now. Cursing Ise randomly is interesting too, though I wish explained a bit further. I have to say that was certainly not how I was expecting the Olympus arc to end like this. I figured Hades and Ares were going to do something regarding Atlas within Ise, not this type of catastrophe, though. It seems he wants to ruin the image of Ise for now and really get started on war.

This quite literally sets a lot of things back for peace and such, and out of everyone, it was Alexander the Great. Azazel giving the harsh scolding and disappointment to Ise was rough to read but understandable, and I guess needed, even if it wasn't entirely his fault. Quite a reckless boy. Hopefully he learns a lesson here for the future. I literally do not know how one can recover from this currently. A huge fallout is likely to ensue, and the god slayer with fear and worry in his name already is in the middle of the cause of it. Albeit the issue was Ares and Hades, but still. I wonder how the next chapter is going to be. Waiting for it is going to kill me, honestly, lol. Our poor boy really fucked up big time and is now in deep shit. Being forced back into OG life isn't also going to sit well with him either.

Anyways, the end of Olympus. That was a great arc we got lots of things, and one of the awesome ones, apart from the fighting, was the official confession of Ise and Ravel. Though there were some problems others have highlighted in this arc. My main issue, more so, was, in my own words, fatigue? Moreover, it just took a long time to finish, which couldn't really be helped. That and there was a shitload of information that kind of overloaded my brain, but that's just a skill issue on my part, lol. Either way, I really did enjoy this arc, and I really did not expect it to end in such a disastrous way, not just for our boy but for everyone. I am sad you stated volumes 11 and 12 would be the end of this story, as I wanted to see more after those volumes, but I guess all good things come to an end.

Well, I can't wait till the next chapter, and with IRL politics a huge worry right now, please do stay safe. :p
FireAkai15 chapter 24 . 20h

Cogi678 chapter 24 . 6/21
For some reason, Ares' abilities in this chapter reminded me of Kratos' "Army of Sparta" ability in God of War 3. The whole situation involving the Egyptian gods was definitely unexpected, but at the same time it was very interesting and creative.

A small criticism, not only of this chapter, but of the entire story since the beginning of the "Olympus Arc": The ORC feels useless. And I don't mean that in the sense that they are physically weak (they are, but their opponents are gods, so it's acceptable for them to be that way), but rather in the sense that they are weak as characters. I literally can't remember a single line Akeno said during this entire arc. If she and everyone else besides Ravel, Rias and maybe Kiba, hadn't come to Olympus, absolutely nothing different would have happened in the arc. And that makes me think, why have all these characters present, if they won't have any "screen time"? Wouldn't it have been better to come up with an excuse to leave them in Kuoh?

At the same time, I understand that it's hard to integrate some of them into the plot without it seeming forced. Even in the DXD canon, Irina only gets a little more prominence in Volumes in which the Church and the Angels will also be a focal point of the story, and 90% of Gasper's appearances in the story are either him fighting againts someone or him being a comic relief.

That being said, I'm really curious about how you intend to develop the next chapter. Apparently Rias has already realized that she's not number 1 anymore, but considering her personality, she's not going to give up. I can easily see her getting desperate and trying to seduce him (something similar to the sauna scene in volume 10).

A gift from the gods is often a perilous thing. Mostly because the gods of Olympus are basically super-powered West-Virginian hicks.
Sekiriyote chapter 24 . 6/21

Soiken chapter 24 . 6/21
Translated by Google:
Incredible episode, although the fight against Ares feels very... bland? I mean, the fight in general was incredible, but the context: Issei vs. Ares didn't happen as such, but Issei vs. Ares' minions. I understand that's how you planned it and everything, but for me it was like: What is this? AH! So that's how it goes... okay.
The expectations... weren't met, but that doesn't detract from the fight.
As for Issei, I feel that his character went a little bit wrong. In the chapters before Olympus, he seemed nervous and humble. It shows in his conversation with Serafal and Medusa, but throughout the Olympus arc, he behaves very aggressively and confrontationally, with "humble" moments (which, to be honest, seemed more like moments of low self-esteem). The preparation implied that it would be an arc of Issei trying to forge an alliance and be liked by the gods, not looking for a fight every 2x3. Now to finish, I share the opinion of another comment where it is requested that the romantic theme of the work be finally touched, we have gone through several arcs, we saw Issei grow and mature, we see how he builds a "second harem" with Ravel, Kiyomi, Medusa and Yasaka, he has already decided which woman to give the "first place" in his heart to, it even seems that he tries to "accept" Koneko again (or maybe it was his own guilty mind for his treatment during her heat, I do not know because IT IS NOT TOUCHED AGAIN), in short we have a lot of development in "sub-context" in that area for the little that has been truly touched, another example is his suppressed resentment, like the time he realized that the whole conflict was because Rias, being honestly stupid, could not stand that he did not say her name (despite the fact that she does not confront Issei directly and hopes that he realizes everything alone, curiously it happened recently) I remembered that Issei is 1 year older than Rias so... XD) and that affected him badly, or when the thing with Koneko and Kuroka happened when confronting him he behaved indifferently and resentfully. I feel like you've focused so much on the gods and such that the "origin" of the story, Issei's break with the nobility and his new "quest" in love, have been put aside to develop more the "action" part of the story itself. An example is how throughout the Olympus arc, Rias's group was almost filler, outside of the Hera garden scene, their presence wasn't really important in the other scenarios, characters like Akeno, Irina, Rossweis and Gasper (I don't even remember if he was on the trip) have no real relevance, it almost seems like without them almost everything would have developed the same (which bothers me, because as I said, Issei's character behaves very differently than how it is shown in the preparation chapters for this arc). And that's all from me. I'd like to clarify that this isn't a negative critique or an attempt to attack your story. Quite the contrary. I love your story and always look forward to your updates. This is just my honest opinion about certain things I've noticed throughout the story and wanted to let you know. I'll be eagerly awaiting the next chapter.
MosuraYa chapter 24 . 6/21

"I skipped to the end of it"

Genuine question, are you retarded?
BigSmokeYeet chapter 22 . 6/21
I skipped to the end of it, we can finally get to the important personal stuff. Wait... 'He's still probably gonna die though' THEN WHATS THE POINT IN READING? WHAT THE FUCK? Man this just feels like milking at this point.
Uday Sra chapter 24 . 6/21
Awesome
Tarnished chapter 24 . 6/16
Oh my god, big smoke dude, can you shut the f*ck up? If you can't read the story then go away. Seriously grow up man. Nobody cares.
BigSmokeYeet chapter 24 . 6/16
Can you please just go back to Issei and the peerage finally dealing with the elephant in the room instead of these side stories? It's getting to the point of where it feels like you are dragging it out.
Insinergy chapter 24 . 6/15
GOSH the edging haha. Very interesting short chapter, though it isn't done yet, of course. I do like how this was done from Kiba's POV. Anyway's These 2 are very cocky Hades and Ares. It makes sense as to why they appeared. I have a feeling their plan is working just like Kiba suspected. Already predicting this is what the snakes wanted after all or perhaps more. I wonder how this will play out, lol this is like the peak moment in terms of the fights. The backstory was interesting. I won't comment on the grape part, but I will certainly say I believe Poseidon. The way he treated Thalassa, I'd rather believe him over Ares. Well, now the true final has started. I do hope Ise beats the shit out of him, though I have a feeling of the unexpected in the battle lol. I wonder how I will leave a review next week, though, since FF doesn't allow reviews of the same chapter, I believe. Well, we'll see. Pretty good so far. I can't wait for the end of the Olympics next week.
FrowningVulcan chapter 24 . 6/15
Not this guy edging us with this chapter, I sincerely hope Ares gets put in his place.
