Reading the author notes confirms to me what is evident in your fic — that you think deeply about the stakes, motivations, etc for each character. It’s been such a joy to read.

After watching the live action, now I'm sad that this means the "our prince has returned" scene won't happen, Zuko really needed that

You say it would be too cruel for Katara to think Zuko is dead for longer than a day, but that doesn’t seem like the true reason. If she thought he was dead for longer, that’d mean a more impactful payoff when she discovers he’s alive, right? But then you’d have to write an angsty Katara for several chapters and I don’t think you felt like doing that.

I don't need sleep when I can read this 3 really wonderful! Absolutely astonishing how precisely you can depict all the characters, their development. It's such a wonderful combination of dialogue and description of the inward motives of every character, whiteout lengthy rants and enough hilarity in every scene. I was either laughing or crying or being completely in excited the whole time while reading.

I’m glad you pointed this out. Katara was often the giver or mother of the group, being the first one to branch out and comfort people and she would very hardly every hit the same thing in return.

Ok so you just might be my new favorite fanfic author. I stumbled across the third book of this series and I didn’t know that, so there I was reading the first chapter and I was like. “ I am so lost.” So I look at you page and realize it was a series. So here I am now reading this . I can’t wait to see where this takes us. Btw fellow zutara shipper here.

It's quite (very!) non-Zutara, though not explicitly so. I ask because imho its one of the best Avatar fanfics around, and one of the main focuses of it is firehealing. It also casts Iron as a total badass, which is awesome.
