I'd like to give this one more read before a review, but three times will have to do for this time. Chapter five confused me when he put out the hit because it didn't seem like he had actually put out a hit! This chapter explained that for me! Evidence of his demise! Sad thing for me was I never got to find out how that demise came about! I hope it was something horrible and took a long time. (I guess you get like this when you get old!)

Did these guys even have IDs? No one ever asked to see any of them that I remember. How some ever, Castle started out in Virginia and that's where Quantico is! Sounded like he went through the training according to the guy talking to Kate! Wanted Kate to be his partner!

Looks like to me that Kate got to be his partner after it was all said and done. His writing partner! It was in the episode, 'Murder He Wrote' in Season 5, when she asked him could she get writer's credit, so she had that thought going on in her head I suppose. He said he was lonely and she pretty much knew he had the hots for her. Must have had some of the same feelings for him to feel the pain for his losses like she did. Even the stupid surgeon stressed that she had said she could have been with the great Richard Castle! And she could have been. Now, I'm certain she is in every way possible.

The redheads' deaths rocked me from the get go, but as you said, you expected it would get to me. Especially Alexis. She has never been my favorite character either and she weakened terribly when she brought Pi onto the scene. What a piss poor excuse for a character! But, Castle adored her and losing her had to have brought him to his knees, so it got me. Hell, it even brought Kate to her knees! But, the story made up for that start, that's for certain! If I have a complaint it would only be that it's already over! I would have enjoyed reading more about Castle and Kate making their way after all of this.

You've done another fine job and I thank you for your effort!

Second, this was a well done 'what if' story and I did enjoy it very much.
Third, while I appreciate and understand the need to work in writing between all other aspects of life (ahem, GeekMom, don't you have 4 unfinished stories?) the second half of this chapter felt like a book report rather than the actual book. A summation of events. I am not one to cast stones from the porch of my glass house, so I'll leave them there, in an awkward pile by the side of the driveway. I just feel like I missed out on the action-packed and heartfelt characterizations in the denouement of your wonderful story. I, for one, have no problem waiting for your storytelling. Keep writing, my friend.

Castle and Dr. Motorcycle boy (Josh) get in a fight over Kate. later Rick is arrested and Kate has to prove his innocence.

Okay, the story was good, but the premise was shaky.

It would've been safer for Bracken to just arrange an 'accident' for Rick.

I mean killing Alexis the way Johanna was killed risked setting off Beckett's radar. It also risked Montgomery having an attack of conscious, an young girl being murdered. Not to mention, the girl was the someone he knew and the daughter of a friend. Not to mention, it might set Rick off in the opposite the direction since he had something to loose.

This approach makes Bracken the stupidest villain since The Dark Lord Chuckles the Silly Piggy.
