This is beautiful. I have adored Faramir for as long as I can remember and this really made his childhood a little brighter for me.
| asdfjkl chapter 1 . 11/11/2008
it doesnt get better than faramir/boromir brother interaction!
| VictimOfCircumstance chapter 1 . 11/27/2005
Whoa... I'm reviewing all of your stories, sorry if it's getting annoying.
Something is definitely wrong with me. During "Rent" at Angel's death scene, everyone else in the theater was sobbing, as I poked through my gummi bears to find a red one. But here, reading this fanfic, I was practically making a puddle. (With tears, not the alternative). The part with Boromir being mad at Faramir and everything was so sad and sweet... I love it. You rock.
| lindahoyland chapter 1 . 10/17/2004
This was most enjoyable with an unexpected ending.I think your portrait of Boromir is true to life for a 12 year old boy.
| Tip chapter 1 . 9/7/2004
Wow, that was really good! I liked how realistic it was- you really portrayed the feelings and events well, it was very believable. Keep up the good work!
| Borris chapter 1 . 3/9/2004
Oh my gosh! So cute :-)!
| Jen chapter 1 . 1/1/2004
Good job, good job, good job! I read your story of Eowyn and Faramir's wedding night, and liked it so much I wanted to read more. I don't want to speak for everyone who reads fanfic, but on my part I read to see extensions of the stories that Tolkien himself wrote. Wanting to hear more about a character that we love is at least one reason I think people read fanfic. Often the stories can be a little self serving, or off-character (although I really shouldn't talk, as I don't have the courage to write a story and put it out there for people to judge). It's so refreshing to read a genuinly three-dimensional, extremely well-written story. I loved how you added some depth to Denethor, who can be a pretty hateful character. Please don't stop writing, because you do a wonderful job of it.
| Argenteus Draco chapter 1 . 10/24/2003
Oh wow... that story really pulled something in me.
Amazing. I love Faz and Boz. You did such a good job protraying the brotherly love there. Simply beautiful writing. I could really picture everything.
| Nikita Cheri chapter 1 . 10/18/2003
GAH! Everything you write just make me want to give Faramir a hug. I really like the way you portrayed both of them (especially Boromir) it seems very fitting to the Boromir & Faramir we know and love.
| vanderwoodsen chapter 2 . 8/31/2003
Hehe, I reviewed this last night on HA but I wanted to re-read it. You're that talented! Be proud!
| Naz chapter 1 . 7/13/2003
Aw... that was written so nicely...
| ErinRua chapter 1 . 4/15/2003
I really liked the conflict in young Boromir, wanting to be tough and "manly" as boys of that age do, but also torn by his affection and deep protectiveness for his little brother. And also I thought Faramir's stubborn struggle to find his own courage was especially touching. I thought that was very well-handled - and a terrific moment for Denethor. We meet Denethor in the darkest of his days, in the books, so it's nice to see him unbend at least a little. Very touching piece and well-handled.
| Kaeera chapter 1 . 4/15/2003
Ai! What a sweet story! Somehow I love those brother-brother relationship stories...they are just sweet. Hehe, It's so Boromir to play the strong man. And you did a nice job portraying their father, with the distance they feel...
Great story! I would like to see more
| Alice7 chapter 1 . 4/12/2003
It's very well written, avon. I really like the descriptives and the atmosphere created between the boys and their father.
This is the first Boromir story i've read and i really enjoyed it.
| Furius chapter 1 . 4/11/2003
*utterly utterly melts*
Love Denethor, you actually wrote him as someone human and good, and portrayed children and their memories in a truthful manner. I love the last paragraph...
