|Reviews for Irony of Fate|
| Guest chapter 1 . 2/4
I read this story 5 years ago and loved it so much I read it twice xD Then I got busy with studies and work so I was really out of reading and just everything with final fantasy... But recently I got into ff7 again and started reading other stories with Aerith and Sephiroth. Some are good... But it never got as deep as yours really. All kinds of scenes of your AU started to come back to my mind and I remember how I loved everything about it. Just the feel of it all and detail. So I'll read it again now. It's been long enough so I'll enjoy it again as if it's new :D
| Thedudeist chapter 18 . 1/4
Yeah, its really an odd feeling when a story goes through so much trouble to make a villain "repent" and turn them into good guys, only to see an OC created almost identical to the character in question. Or to be replaced by a character that was originally a good guy. This being the case, Zack is indeed dead, i think i'll just regard "this" Zack as a zombie or something.
| Thedudeist chapter 7 . 12/3/2017
i cant help but feel like without a big enemy, this whole journey may be to easy for them. I read this story because of seph but its kinda like making Sin a good giant whale in FF10.
| Thedudeist chapter 4 . 12/3/2017
...i almost teared up a little.
| Hunter0956 chapter 46 . 1/15/2017
Cloud/FN-2199 to Sephiroth/Finn: "TRAITOR!"
| Guest chapter 46 . 1/15/2017
In chapter 46, Cloud said what FN-2199 will eventually say: "Traitor!"
| miano53 chapter 6 . 8/27/2016
Well, now that I think about it, Cloud has killed people too by the time they reached Nibelheim. All those SOLDIER 3rd classes and Shinra Infantrymen. I know he's hurting, but he and Barret was being hypocritical when you look at it from afar.
| miano53 chapter 4 . 8/21/2016
And once again, if only... :(
| miano53 chapter 2 . 8/18/2016
If only, if only...
| miano53 chapter 1 . 8/18/2016
I didn't notice that you never wrote Cait Sith in. Even after all these years of reading these fics in this AU I never noticed.
| heredia chapter 1 . 6/7/2016
his origin means nothing - in the eyes of everyone he is still monster, it doesnt matter that his parents are humans - for everyone he would be freak who deserved to be abandoned by his own parents cause who would want to rise such a freak
| Shinigami Merchant chapter 2 . 3/19/2016
Really liking this Au so far, much prefer you interpretation of Vincent and Lucrecia's relationship, it gives the theory (read as obvious fact to anyone with the gift of sight) that Vincent is Sephiroth's real father more weight and I really like that X3
| UnLike Us chapter 63 . 3/8/2016
Hi, new reader here. I really enjoyed you fan fiction. I think it's a a great work both in plot and length. I also appreciated the descriptions of the relationships in you fic, how there's a certain lack of trust and uncertainty between the member in AVALANCHE. I realise now that this point point which is inevitably when strangers are thrown together to fight for the same cause is too often brushed over in other fics. I thought that the character development was well done, and you let the changes in the group take their time instead of rushing them, especially the relationship between Sephiroth and Aerith with emphasis on Sephiroth's ability to trust. Additionally the emotional struggles that the characters went through in reaction to certain events was very well rendered. Examples of this is Vincent's revelation that he is Sephiroths father and the guilt that he should and would have done more for Sephiroth if he'd known sooner. Another is Yuffy's struggle to tell someone about the love she witnessed Cosmo Canyon.
I thought you could have better described Cloud's struggle to forgive Sephiroth though, all we se is him 'struggling to forgive, because he's forced to by circumstances and then suddenly breaks his bonds? A suggestion could be to instead describe how the event's that where Sephiroths humanity comes through during the journey flashes through his mind, such as their first trip to JENOVA's min where he saves cloud and consider's not waking up afterwards. How he saves Aerith from Weapon and his submission to Cloud's beating. And when this is not enough, the final push as he realises how consuming his hatred for Sephiroth is and how it blinds him and dulls his love for Tiifa as you wrote about.
Sometimes I thought that there was too much "what you did was wrong" by other people to Sephiroth. I don't think this is a very convincing way to get someone, especially a psychopath to admit their wrong doing even if they have their doubts. I also thought that the " it's because of the way you were raised" came through to , how should I say this, forward and certain? I think realising how much of someones behaviour is a part of a persons upbringing is just as hard for the person in question as for the person pointing it out. So instead of expressing it as an absolute right from the start to instead go with a gradual realisations expresses with 'maybe' and 'perhaps' an then go on to 'probably' a 'must be'. This is especially doable in your fic as you take it up this line of conversation at several points in the story. The way it is written know makes thees conversation rather repetitive instead since the main talker in these conversations (Aerith) says pretty much the same thing. Or at least that was my impression, I didn't actually go back to check so I could be wrong.
I'll draw wrap this review up. There are so many things in this pic that I liked but haven't brought up, but this can also be seen by the length of this review because I wouldn't put so much time on writing it otherwise, especially since I'm a bit short on time right now. Most of the bulk of this review is made out of what I hope is constructive criticism. I know some people don't take criticism too well and I'm not entirely of your take on it, but for me it has always been what I appreciate most when people comment on my work, so it's my best way of showing my appreciation. So I hope you enjoy it. Good job on seeing this pic to the end. There are too many good stories out there that are only half done. As well as coming back to retouch it and continuing your writing. You may be doing it for your own entertainment, but it sure as hell is entertaining for a lot of riders out there as well. Thank you!

Hi, new reader here. I usually reserve my comments to the end. But I make exceptions for particularly enjoyable chapters. This family scenario was totally hilarious. I can just imagine Vincent standing innocent, minding his own business, until Cid elbows him and he realises he somehow has gotten himself a "daughter".
| AlphaEN chapter 37 . 2/13/2016
I'm not sure who's more emotionally unstable in this story, Cloud or Sephiroth.
