I like the story. now on to something that pressed a button.
In your authors note you paint Buffy the victim and Spike the abuser, but it's not that simple. they were in it together. Spike is as much a victim as Buffy and Buffy does plenty of abusing Spike. Buffy's actions stemmed from her feelings of coming back wrong but also having to come to terms with things not being exactly what/how they are. Also Spike isn't the only one who took advantage/abused Buffy. The whole Angel Buffy relationship is nothing but abusive and destructive. the fact is that there was love between Spike and Buffy but neither of them could show it in a healthy way because neither had ever known a healthy relationship. plus Buffy was in denial of her feelings for the longest. side note, yes Angel has a soul but one should never forget that it probably isn't HIS soul. Liam, who he was as a human, was a horrible person.

I think it's an excellent way to review the Buffy / Giles relationship and try to give it a better ending, one that they really deserved.

I would like to know how you intended to finish it, although you have probably already moved to another project.

Enjoying the story so far. I like the rapport between Buffy and Giles, especially how he’s skeptical but trusts her. I liked Buffy’s internal conflict about not being able to change things she knows will happen even whe. She tries.

Amazing story! I really enjoy collection of stories where Buffy is given a second chance at her life. Please continue!

The author has hardcore daddy issues

Decent adaptation of part of the pilot to your premise. Taking Darla out could have some big implications in regards to Angel and more directly Jessie and thus on Willow, Xander, and the whole Scooby dynamic. Also interested to see if you think the perception of Buffy as either crazy or psychic or whatever will impact how he feels towards her.

Couple small things. First a typo "steered Willowed". Secondly not sure if you purposely changed it, were going on potentially what Buffy heard him say, or if it was just an oversight, but the first thing Xander says is "Can I have you?" before revising it to "Can I help you?"

Oh and I wasn't able to pick up on anything lifted from Dead Man's Party. :/

Really like the premise of the story and interested to see where it goes. Curious if at the end there you meant that Buffy would keep Willow and Xander out if her slaying to try to keep them safe or not?

One small error I noticed though: "Yes, something is going to happy, soon,...". Happy instead of happen.
