Throw-Away9261 chapter 53 . 8/2 Just finished re-reading this, and it was definitely a pleasure taking another look at the story. I will say though that the constant crying over even the smallest emotional moment (whether it's happy or sad) makes it lose it's impact if it happens so regularly and so easily. Maybe that's because I'm emotionally stunted and actively struggle to cry, but it still just feels more like the emotions are too obviously presented. There are certainly points where it's warranted, but because Peter's cried over absolutely everything, it doesn't have the same impact. Especially when some of the dialogue can read like a thesaurus with some characters just describing their current emotional/mental state. And Peter feeling constantly guilty over everything surrounding him sometimes felt like much. I can get him feeling bad and guilty at point, but constantly apologizing for everything and breaking down over Mina and Momo projecting feelings based on their insecurities as if he was solely to blame just by existing around them are times where it can be excessive. But regardless of some nitpicks, this was still a very enjoyable read that did a great job calling out the popularity ranking of the hero society and their black and white views of good and bad. As well as Mayume's downfall due to her grief and hero society being very well written and added extra complexities to her goals. I just wish we could have seen more of the discourse between Class 1-A over Peter. Gonna re-read the sequel to this story now |
