For the first meeting I think Thatch or Jozu would be great! I imagine them as really kind and funny. And Thatch is such a bro! ;)

Imma sucker for the Marco/Ace pairing and I’d really like Ace to meet Izo or Thatch first, maybe both? Great story btw

For a pairing I admit I am torn between Marco and Sabo. They both can be so fun to read, even when it is kept in the background of a story.
As for first meeting of a commander Izo while shopping or Namur out at sea maybe, but anyone EXCEPT Thatch and/or Haruta as you could then drive both of them INSANE over it for a good bit. Heck, I'm surprised Shanks has not been teasing people who knew Rouge about the resemblance "Lady Spade" has to her old bounty posters.

About pairings... well I was always a real sucker for some Marco/Ace pairing cause these two just are adorable and also their devil fruits are really compatible.
Which Whitebeard to meet is a bit of a harder question, tough I kinda don‘t want it to be Haruta right away - it would be much more fun to have his fanboy moment in front of an audience. I think I‘d go again with Marco cause he doesn‘t let anything bring him out of his calm and I can just imagine when Haruta and the other commanders hear that he met them, they all gonna be jealous and asking why it‘s always Marco getting ti do fun stuff

You should have them meet Thatch and have Ace almost cry when he sees him.
