well that was indeed an Oregairu Fanfic!

it really engaged me from start to end and I loved how you wrote Hachiman and Yukino, they both really develop quite amazingly here! really appreciate this fanfic showing this side of them, even the most intimates together to some extent. wonderful fic! and congratulations in completing it!

funny thing is, i once had the same thought of just courting a decent woman in online dating site and experience rejection. at that time my reasoning was that being rejected by random woman that i'm not even attracted to would toughen my resolve when the same thing happened if i fail to court the woman i liked.

Almost a year later I finally decided to come finish reading this story, and it was as fantastic as I remember. Definitely one of my favourite Oregairu stories out there with an extremely satisfying ending, believable drama sections without falling into edgy angst that only exists for the sake of angst, and good characterization.

Overall, I'd say that the relationship aspects were the best parts of the fic, but some of the worldbuilding and characters threatened my SoD. I think if you toned down the violence and balanced the characters better you could have had an amazing fic. Yukino and Hachiman's dialogue also feels somewhat lacking. Finally, I just really don't like the use of Yuki and Hachi as pet names. Never have, never will. Yukino is a great name and should be preserved. Hearing Yukino call Hachiman Hachi just feels weird. This resulted in these two basically feeling like completely different characters than the characters I've come to know. To be honest, this really doesn't feel like a fanfiction of Oregairu.

In the end, despite basing Yukino's mom off of your life experience she felt less realistic than canon. I think part of this is because she feels very ineffective in your fic. There is an inverse problem with the dad, where he feels too effective in shutting the mom down. It all felt too convenient. Prime wish fulfillment. Canon handled this well, where Hachiman was showing off his stuff without outplaying the mom. Despite things working out well for Hachiman, the wish fulfillment feeling wasn't as present there.

Didn't Yumiko try to grab Yukino's collar, not punch her?

A little moment where Yukino tells her father off for threatening Hachiman and says that she would handle him if he made her cry would have fit in perfectly.

Why is your universe so much harsher than canon? Those dudes last chapter seemed really casual with their violence. How have they not been expelled already? Then you have Hayama acting super aggressive, Haruno seeming overly sadistic, and Yukino's mom being the overly controlling narcissistic mother taken to the extreme. In a school like Soubu, I'd expect everything to be toned down. Even if thugs and bullies exist, they would have to tone down their antics to stay at Soubu. Hayama only ever got physical, as far as I can recall, when Hachiman was literally manipulating the situation to get him to do it. Haruno also doesn't really seem to be against Yukino at all when looking at her actions throughout the series. Finally, Yukino's mom seems like the overly controlling mother who actually does love her daughter in canon. This causes issues, but it's nowhere near as bad. Yukino from canon, even if we're just looking at the earlier volumes, certainly seems like the daughter of this type of mother rather than the one you've crafted.

I wonder what happened to those guys. For some reason, I have a feeling that they aren't going to get the appropriate punishment.

There are many fics that just don't incorporate the feeling of being in love but this one is basically overflowing with it. Looking forward to reading it!
