Reviews for Second Chances
chucksboxers chapter 8 . 9/20/2021
You definitely tricked me there! But you made a new beach for Chuck so that’s nice.
Seems like quite the start to their new beginnings!
chucksboxers chapter 7 . 9/19/2021
Gotta reach the beach!

Nice warm hearted chapter!
chucksboxers chapter 6 . 9/18/2021
Nice job on the first meet with the B clan! I think you got the voices down nicely!
chucksboxers chapter 5 . 9/17/2021
That was really well done - original and unexpected in many places but totally fits with their characters! I’m really enjoying this story.
chucksboxers chapter 4 . 9/17/2021
Really cool re-work of the first meet after the distasteful meeting with Forrest. Thanks!
chucksboxers chapter 3 . 9/17/2021
Yeah your Casey communicates better than canon! LOL

Nice chapter - really setting the tone here for an epic comeback story. :-)
chucksboxers chapter 2 . 9/17/2021
Wow this is quite the back story setting you’ve created here - very well done!
chucksboxers chapter 1 . 9/17/2021
Interesting premise!
Jace chapter 16 . 9/6/2021
A great and very enjoyable tale. I liked the way you wove our favorite characters together as well as the very creative ending. I like Casey as a smarter, version of the Canon Character. I started reading this and had to read it all the way to the conclusion, a great and very enjoyable read. Thank you for the great entertainment.
AwesomeCasey chapter 16 . 7/14/2021
I have finished reading this story for the second time, and found it to be even more amazing than the first time. I love the premise of Sarah being inserted into Chuck’s life a couple of years after he received the Intersect. And of Sarah being able to be more open and honest due to her path in the aftermath of her accident.

The dialog and events with this alternate timeline ring very true to the characters. I never had a hard time imagining the characters expressing the feelings that they did, or the way they expressed them. And the premise is so original, and provided fertile ground for re-imagining Chuck and Sarah’s connection and love.

I feel fortunate that I didn’t find this story until well after it was completed. It would have been hard to wait for new chapters based on the original publishing timeline. In all, this was a very fulfilling story, and is definitely firmly entrenched in my favorites list.
MM2020 chapter 6 . 6/3/2021
We need a stronger, bolder Chuck and you hit the nail on the head. I liked Chuck standing up to Ellie.
Bob J chapter 6 . 6/1/2021
Reading this for the third time. Each time I pick up on something I had previously missed . Great story. Love your writing style.
fklong2d chapter 16 . 5/23/2021
Really enjoyed this story and the story arc you created. Well done and greatly appreciated.
UnYawn chapter 16 . 4/1/2021
Wayne, this the first Fic I’ve read by you. Well done! I will definitely more of your works. I really enjoyed your character development and usage. You held true to your statement of “canonish” while added just the right amount of your own spin.
Kelt45 chapter 16 . 2/8/2021
Ok, so I left an 'intro' review on Chap 1 with the plan to follow with this final review. I figured at 100k words that it would take me a few days so there would be more space between my reviews. But I couldn't put this one down and read most of it the first day and finished up today.

Yet again, Wayne delivers the goods with great Charah plot, but most importantly tons of poignant spot-on dialogue from the characters. I think one of the hallmarks of his writing is dialogue that I can just totally believe could come from the characters. Its obviously longer because you need that in print vs a visual show, but this writing is as good as what we saw on TV.

As a type of spolier-free review for future readers (not intended to be criticism but more info on this type of story so a reader might know if they would like it) this is for sure a gentler ride for Charah than the show (I don't view it as fluff, but certainly very positive outcome for the characters we love).

There are going to be some times in this story where a reader might feel that Chuck and Sarah move too fast and it is not realistic. But I think it is very important to pay attention in the first few chapters and keep in mind this is a very different Chuck and Sarah than S1E1. Chuck has gone through 2 years of TV show events without Sarah there to support him... so tough emotionally, but he is very understanding of the "spy world" and what an 'enforcer' like Sarah must have gone through. And Sarah has had 2 years of basically no missions to just sit with herself and think. She is much more self-aware than we expect from the first few seasons of Chuck.

Keeping that in mind, if that sounds like a story you will enjoy then I highly recommend reading this. I loved it!
