I mean just transient knowledge of the set up for Wildbow's story with Taylor's backstory and you know he didn't always think everything through meant it was the impossible backstory. She was literally supposed to be set up to be in a vulnerable spot with a chip on her shoulder large enough to push her way through anything to prove herself.

But honestly that was fractured and ruined the second we found out how she triggers. Sophia stuffed biological waste into the locker sometime after Christmas Break started to let it fester as part of the plan. IDK if Wildbow never payed the fuck attention or not but teachers are required to come into the school several days before the actual start of term to get everything organized and set up and that's more for their leisure of not having to do it while students are there. There's also the fact that it's mandatory. Janitors come in to clean up the school because even if the school was empty for 2 weeks dust and stuff still piles up. Even with Winslow doing the bare minimum someone would have caught the godawful smell throughout the entire school and investigated if only because it'd be unbearable to them to have to smell it.

Going by the narrative that means Taylor at the worst outcome should've already been in prison and pending trial if it was blamed on her. That along with felony charges placed on her where her only defense would be why would I do that with my locker specifically. At best that means Sophia and squad are legit fucked before school starts if Blackwell decides holy shit the money for a ward is not worth this. Either way Taylor never ends up in that locker.

Biological waste that's festered in a public open place like that requires a proper cleaning team to make sure it's removed. If Blackwell just sweeps it under the rug at that point like she did everything else and only had it cleaned up in house then everyone who came back into the school would be very very sick in short order due to airborne pathogens and improper cleaning. This route she may or may not end up in the locker depending on if they feel like it's worthless to try without the trash. If she did end up in there it's not nearly as bad as canon but still pretty rough.

If for some reason it still manages to slide under the radar and she was shoved into the locker with that trash? That means the cops immediately have to bump the case up the ladder to the Feds and the CDC. Corrupt cops wouldn't even dare take the chance to bury it. One video or mention online about it would spread like wildfire and then they have the entire precinct under investigation too. Once it's a federal case like that not even the PRT could get it shut down because now it's national news and as so many people like to point out PR in PRT stands for public relations because of how important it is. They literally cannot afford the backlash of shutting down a Bioterrorism case and they can't claim it as their own case until Sophia is pegged as a culprit and by then they'd be outing her as a ward and would likely have the case ripped from them anyways in return.

Wildbow had it set up so no one at the scene would even report it? How? HOW?! These are the same idiots who can't even prioritize running from a cape fight and video literally everything interesting, funny or horrifying. Greg himself is Void Cowboy who apparently has no filter to the point he's been banned for the same things multiple fucking times. It's literally impossible that no one posted a video of it thinking it hilarious or mentioned it anywhere in the aftermath of it.

The original story is good don't get me wrong I just totes agree with you and this has been piling up for so long and it became verbal diarrhea on your story review. Sorry. You're stories really really good thank you for having shared your efforts with us though. I definitely enjoy the way she's making the powers her instead of just being a full on copy oh Archer.

She's missing the fact that once she reaches the peak and then eventually goes beyond those swords will feel light as a feather and fit perfectly for quick controlled slashes to dart in and out.

Once Archer is gone? The fact that they are his favorite blades and are effectively passed down to her when he already means so much to her will make them infinitely more important to her than she realizes.

Also, the battery. Wouldn't be surprised if the thing was designed to slowly carve more and more mana circuits into her as she uses it's power more and more until she's capable of doing it long past the time the battery should have run dry. Her becoming a font of energy herself. Developing something on the level of the dragon core Saber had. While having more than enough circuits to eventually be a top tier mage if she decides to branch out to do other things. I mean that would technically be the end goal of the plan. Making someone more capable than Archer was to be able to fight such a powerful entity. All of his strengths in combat combined with what's needed to overcome his weaknesses.

great chapter but I don't think the opening line to Taylor's area works, personally I would have gone with
- my body has been forged by blades-
referencing how her body and nature has been changed by the warrior shard and the alterations she is undergoing as archers demi-servent, it is also thematically appropriate as Archer is a sword and as Taylor subsumes him she is essentially being reforged. it also makes it clear that unlike Archer she isn't inherently a sword but has been forged into a suitable vessel to contain and understand blades
as for the second line of the area it works well but a slight change to
-steel is my vessel and fire is my soul- works much better.
as for the third line it is perfect as is.

Just came back for my like 6th full reread and am kinda hoping that this fic might get some love soon. For a more serious review I am loving how your bring in Imp with Taylor which could lead to her setting up her own crew out of the undersiders later while thumbing her nose at the PRT. Overall I just enjoy this story and wish to see more.
