Ok, i really liked the way you integrated CERBERUS in this story and the way you are handling ONI overall, its refreshing to see an actual realistic scenario where the intelligence agencies do their job without turning into something laughable.

I love the story and hope you can keep writing.

I like this version/interpretation of Cerberus. It is exactly what the HALO/Mass Effect vs needs, a deniable assist that can do what is necessary to maintain the balance of power (in humanities favorer, of course).

Yeah Cerberus might be a good idea if you make them different from the games! Will be nice if Shepard joins Cerberus, might lead them on the right track!

Don't mind cerberus being in the story if you do something different with it. I'm never been a huge fan of cerberus when it's simply a direct copy of the game's organization. It's just kind of boring and unnecessary in a new universe that wasn't built with it in mind. There was a very real reason for it existing in Mass Effect and that was a direct result of alien hostility, albeit limited enough to warrant a minority group within the whole.

In this story, humanity has already been attacked, in a far worse way in the past, which would make nearly the entire species have similar xenophobic views in comparison. So, in a story like this, I think this is how you should make something like Cerberus operate, something of a black ops group, assuming you intend on making it an actual, effective organization with funding. There's also the fact that humans in this story have a background and something of an obligation to be the dominant power of the galaxy, with the knowledge of forerunners, flood, halo rings, etc. and direct access to said technology.

Anyways, I kind of went off on a tangent there. I really enjoyed the political, logistical, and strategic talking points. Hope to see more of that.

I am just worried how many good charcaters of ME verse could be killed cause of this and also the thought of the future TIM having access to Halo tech and knowledge of the rings/flood is horrifying to imagine.

This chapter was honestly very good. It builds tensions. Not really sure Anderson’s task force is enough. The UNSC should build “Pocket-Battleships” like the Germans did in WW2 and unleash hundreds of Prowlers like the U-Boats on every Citadel shipping.

These Pocket-Battleships can be used to raid Citadel outposts and the Prowlers can ambush Citadel dreadnoughts.

Meanwhile, I believe ONI should divide the Quarians. That way, they’re split between Pro-Citadel and Pro-UNSC. It’s a win-win for the UNSC. If the Pro-UNSC faction wins, they’ve acquired a race of talented engineers. If the Pro-Citadel wins, the Quarians will be so devastated they won’t have much of an impact.

For the Krogans, same thing.

As for the Batarians, how about Cerberus baits the Batarians into attacking the UNSC when they found out there were Forerunner sites in Batarian space.

For the Terminus Systems, different story. The UNSC offers them a hand to beat back the Citadel and in exchange, the UNSC has free reign in their territory. Thus, the Citadel would have to fight in 2 fronts if they go to war again.
