The shine is off ‘Flophart’ very quickly. He shows he’s “all hat and no cattle”.

I like how they enlist the other students into trying to get rid of ‘Flophart’. Harry’s right that Binns and Snape need to go too.

I like the combination of Potter elves and Harry to neutralize the Diary.

Still up is final reckoning regards ‘Flophart’ and the Rat.

Dumbles is leagues behind Harry at this point. The MOF’s ideas about how Harry can best defeat Tom are cracked. MoRon won’t learn either.

Concerning ‘Scabbers’, I think Harry should call on Twinkle and get on or more of his elves to capture ‘Scabbers’ and change him, then call Madam Bones and perhaps Sirius/Remus too. This would take the rat out of the picture. H&H’s vigilant elves should also be able to sense the Horcrux.

Dobby’s incursion is not nearly the Charlie Foxtrot is is in canon. With the Potter elves on the case, it will be an easier Second year I think

It’s nice that Harry want Petunia to see the manor. Just depends if she’s willing to have magical transport.

Things are setting up for a closer to canon CoS. MoRon keeps trying and failing.

Considering H&H’s magical power and abilities, I see several sabots getting thrown into the Malfoy machinery.

End of term works out as I’d expect. Both Dumbles and MoRon are laps behind H&H. I look forward to H&H visiting Grimmauld.

As I expect, Hermione is farther advanced in their relationship than Harry. It might happen during the next school year.

I wonder how close to canon CoS will be.

Dumbles keeps battering his head (actually!) by trying Legilimancy. H&H&N are simply people he never expected to find.

Dumbles definitely comes a cropper regarding Harry and will do so too if he’s so foolish aa to try it with Hermione.

Ron won’t ever become H&H&N’s friend, no matter how hard he tries.

Things go about as canon, but I’m disappointed that Hermione doesn’t have a thicker skin, considering all the time she’s spent with Harry. She really should have given Ron a pushback, along with Harry and Neville. Still an interesting riff on canon.

Ron is fully as irritating as he was in canon. Draco is every bit as bad as canon and the encounter goes about the same, differing in that H&H use some wandless magic to teach a lesson Draco won’t learn. H&H do another great thing with Neville by teaching him some wandless magic.

I expected that Ron would try to be the fourth in H&N&H’s boat.

The Sorting runs to form. I like thought that the Hat tries to put Harry into Slytherin and Ravenclaw on the basis of his heritage. I like that Hermione picks up and is thoughtful about the Hat’s ‘mate’ comment. It is already clear they’ll be S.O.s

I really like Harry’s Dursley send off. It’s about a cordial as Harry could have wanted.

I love that H&H go together onto Platform 9 3/4 and avoid the ‘Red Menace’ at least pre-platform.

I love how H&H help Neville and I’m certain he will go through the Sorting fine. I’d really like it if H&H get Sorted into Ravenclaw. We’ll see.

The next ‘Great Adventure’ is about to begin and won’t Dumbles be wrong-footed!

A different firstie trip to Diagon.

Olivander was as quirky and spooky as in canon.

Draco/Lucius were even worse than canon, using the ‘M’ word right off the bat. Neat that both of them get owls. Part of Hermione’s accelerated introduction to magic and the Magical World.

Hagrid did the best he could for H&H. Hopefully they will learn some more in the next month, before the Express.

Scar no more! However will wizard reared children recognize him and what will they say when they learn who he is?

On the next trip to Gringotts Harry has to get copies of the wills and have Amelia Bones work to free Sirius. H&H may get their introduction to some magical children and that will ease things. Of course, many of the MOF’s plan have now gone up in smoke. Hogwarts is going to be VERY interesting

Hurrah! Harry and Hermione meet, two years early. They find out the most important thing about the other. By the time they board the Express in 1991, they are sure to have a deep connexion that can only help them.
