It wouldn't surprise me if it turned out that most of the staff of Hogwash were either under the long-term effects of several loyalty potions or charms or even both. All keyed to Good Ole Fumblemort himself. Of course, Good Ole Fumblemort could've amped up Vernon's temper magically and being as he's a muggle there'd be no trace of it. Vernon and Dudley Dursley aren't gonna be very happy campers fairly soon! Amelia will send he best and strongest Aurors to arrest the two for attempted murder of a minor wizard. And knowing Vernon and Dudley, they won't come quietly! Which means Vernon will be all but carried out of his house. Though it is possible that Harry in fact owns it. I've read a few where the Dursleys never paid the Morgage, and the house reverted to Harry's ownership because of it. Either way Vernon and Dudley will be spending time at Her Majesties Pleasure. Vernon might even get hot and cold running Dementors! How much more lucky can you get?! ;) Dudley might get luck and get sentenced to Juvie instead of Azkaban like his father. I don't know as you haven't even hinted at Petunia involvement in Harry's abuse. So, she could wind-up sharing Vernon's hot and cold running Dementors or serving a few years in a muggle prison for being an accomplice. But I doubt Amelia could make anything stick to Good Ole Fumblemort.

In most fan fics Good Ole Fumblemort is listed in the Potters Wills as a Witness ONLY! In a lot Sirius is listed as Harry's Oath Sworn Godfather with Peter Pettigrew listed as the Secret Keeper. In some I've read Harry was never supposed to even know the Duursleys existed nor was he supposed to attend Hogwash. But Good Ole Fumblemort wanting his weapon sealed their Wills and threw Sirius in Azkaban for life to gain control of Harry. These are some of the usual reasons why Good Ole Fumblemort keeps such a close eye on those Wills. If it/they were opened and read it would be disastrous for his political standing. It would also lead to Harry getting new a guardian(s) who would not abuse Harry. Would not see him as only a tool for greater power. Good Ole Fumblemort ain't as Light as he wants everybody to believe!

My only question is, how soon will Good Ole Fumblemort try to destroy their friendship? If there's anyone who dearly deserves to die, it's Good Ole Fumblemort followed closely by Malformed. I'm really surprised everytime by just how stupid the order are. Not a one of them can think for him/herself. Good Ole Fumblemort tells them not to hurt the Death Eaters while dodging lethal magic from said Death Eaters. It's plain to anyone with maybe a Billionth of an active brain cell that way leads to an early grave. So, what is the true reason that Good Ole Fumblemort is protecting the Death Eaters? I have some ideas but no proof. Harry and Luna becoming friends is very good for both of them. Both are rather lonely.

And if Good Ole Fumblemort has his way, Harry'll be right back at his oh so loving relatives house as soon as he's released. Of course, that'll be a lot sooner than the Medi-Witches and Wizards would want but Good Ole Fumblemort would see it done! He already knows about the abuse but doesn't care.

Great story! One of the more solid ones I’ve read.

But too many plot holes and unanswered questions for my liking. For example:
-You mentioned that the Potters were part owners of the “Daily Prophet” when he read his Family account statements and Harry had an “evil” idea on how to deal with them. But somehow, throughout the story, they just got one sidedly harassed by the newspaper without them being able to do anything to retaliate.
-The absence of Remus Lupin all throughout the story is very odd. Especially as the dude who taught Harry the Patronus, he should at least have shown up somewhere in the middle of the story.
-Using the special “Point me” charms of the goblins, they found Gaunt’s ring and Rowena’s diadem. But why were they not able to pinpoint the snake? It seems you may just have forgotten about Nagini until the part when the Horcruxes were needed to be destroyed. The wasa loose end on Harry’s

Seems a bit far-fetched that he deducted all that from so little information. Harry never was that bright. Not many kids are that intuitive at the age of 14.

What really confuses me about your story is that the Ministry is denying the existence of Voldemort and his Death Eaters still being active, yet the Death Eaters attacked Diagon Alley in broad daylight, and then both groups stormed Sirius' home together. Why would they work together at this point? It just didn't make any sense.
