Reviews for Harry Potter and the Rule of Three |

Bronze chapter 4 . 4/26 If St. Mungos charged for their work at the rate muggle hospitals do Good Ole Fumblemort would be looking at a bill somewhere north of double figure million Galleons. Maybe even triple figure million Galleons! I think it'd only be right if he was made to pay seeing as he's both directly as well as indirectly responsible for what happened to Harry. Though I'd truly be shocked if Good Ole Fumblemort spent ANY time at all in Azkaban for the crimes he's committed. He just has too many people who owe him favors or that he too much dirt on to vote for it to happen. There's just no way he's the REAL Leader of the Light! Not with how he allowed Harry to be treated. |
Bronze chapter 3 . 4/26 It's quite obvious that Good Ole Fumblemort is over his head in exceptionally dirty deeds. I wouldn't be at all surprised if Fudge was also involved though nowhere near as deep as Fumblemort. Fudge is just a dirty politician after all not a closet Dark Lord. And believe me Good Ole Fumblemort IS a Dark Lord! He knows about the abuse and condones it! It wouldn't surprise me at all if he TOLD Vernon to be extra abusive to break Harry this summer. Though I can easily see the massive coronary Fumblemort would suffer from if Harry snapped his wand and walked away from the British magical world. Of course, Harry'd have to warn Neville as well as Hermione to get the bloody hell out of Dodge before he did so as Good Ole Fumblemort would very likely try to use Neville in place of Harry and use Hermione against Harry. To put it bluntly, the only nonexpendable person in the entire world in Good Ole Fumblemort himself. |
Bronze chapter 2 . 4/26 Yeah, Harry and Luna becoming friends is a very good thing. However, Luna should never go anywhere near the Dursleys till either she's old enough to magically defend herself or she has an adult she can trust. Because I really wouldn't put it past the Dursleys, meaning Vernon and Dudley to attack her. After all, it's not like either has much in the way of common sense nor compassion for anyone other than themselves. I really wonder sometimes what Good Ole Fumblemort would do if Harry stood up in the Great Hall, swore on his life and his magic what his TRUE homelife was like in front of the entire staff and Student body as well as the two visiting schools. I imagine he'd do whatever it took to shut the Quibbler down if it published the truth about how the Dursleys treated Harry before Hogwash along with during his vacations from it. He'd have to as it would expose all his lies about Harry being well treated, loved and spoiled. I don't remember from when I last read this, but it wouldn't surprise me to read that Good Ole Fumblemort was stealing from the Potter vaults as well as having made a marriage contract between Harry and Ginny Weasley. Yeah, the idea has been done to death, but I can totally see him doing it. I can also see him arranging for other well off magical orphans to go to abusive homes where they died before ever getting their Hogwash letters. Then when they die, he gets to keep their money. I can see him do it in the name of The Greater Good. Basically, anything that's good for him is for the greater good. That as good an explanation as any for a concept that never ever gets explained nor fully described. |
Bronze chapter 1 . 4/25 I started reading this at least once before but never finished it. I really don't know why. However, this time I intend to as I remember it as being quite good. And I can truly see Good Ole Fumblemort doing or allowing this to happen to Harry. Right along with coming to coverup his part in this. If worse comes to worse, he'll willingly throw whoever he has to under the bus to take the heat off himself. There's just no way he can allow anyone to truly know the part he played in screwing up Harry's life. |
Xavras chapter 25 . 4/11 nicely executed here - all of it |
Xavras chapter 23 . 4/11 the response of the Ministry and what was published in the Prophet is just ridiculous now and the stupid law to punish any who spoke about Death Eaters it diminishes the story in my opinion or it just shows how amazingly stupid the purebloods can be |
Xavras chapter 11 . 4/10 Those who voted that Sirius was guilty are short sited - Harry and Sirius will know who voted that way and why - and the hypocritical nature of such a vote when they would have been Death Eaters and known that Sirius was NOT a Death Eater just makes them more in Harry's line of fire down the road And the stupid sheep who voted that Albus was innocent in the face of overwhelming evidence to his guilt would also be noted by Harry and his friends and new family Not how to win friends and influence enemies, but that's wizards for you |
Xavras chapter 9 . 4/10 Only found this story recently - been reading through it And I must say that I like how you are dealing with Dumbledore so far. There is so much in the way JKR wrote the stories that basically implicate Dumbledore as being evil and manipulative. I have even started a story tentatively titled "The Trial Of Dumbledore" - which would address all of his manipulations and would also include some Weasley family bashing... But so far I like who you are handling this story |
Xavras chapter 1 . 4/10 As a physician, I appreciate your detailed medical descriptions of the multitude of injuries that Harry has... interesting start to the story |
Specky Clarke chapter 23 . 4/2 The Hogsmeade fight scene was pathetic. Nearly all the actions described seemed to be in slow motion, considering the casting speeds described for Harry and the girls in earlier chapters. Subsequent injuries were not necessary. |
Simianpower chapter 11 . 2/26 I was here for [Harry, Hermione, Susan], but have gotten none of that. Instead it's all Hurt/Comfort/Family, massively overdone cliches, wimpy MC, and plot holes. I read reviews going to the end of the story and it appears that all of that only gets worse rather than better, so I'm out. This is well written, but the plot and pacing suck. |
Simianpower chapter 10 . 2/26 "Seven EQUAL sections: half for me..." Umm, wut? And half of 25 million is not 10 million. The math in this chapter is flat wrong. If portkeys out worked, the entire plot of book 4 is pointless and nonsensical, since the entire thing revolved around getting Harry to win the tournament and get snagged by the ONLY PORTKEY that would actually work since it was made by Dumbledore prior to being "modified" by Crouch. |
Simianpower chapter 9 . 2/26 Last chapter: "Dumbledore cast a silent, WANDLESS compulsion charm" This chapter: "One of the Aurors tested [Dumbledore's wand] for the last few spells he cast and found he compulsed someone very recently" Nope. Nopenopenope. As for Kingsley trying Sirius right before Dumbledore in order to find more evidence against Dumbledore, I can't tell whether this is meant to further showcase just how fucked up wizarding "justice" is, or if the author has no idea how courts and the discovery process actually work. It might be both. So far this story should be called "Amelia Bones and Solving All the Potter Problems" since Harry has so little agency that he's basically a bit-part player. As it stands, at a third of the way through I'm not sure I'll finish the story since the title character barely matters except as a plot device. |
Simianpower chapter 8 . 2/26 "From what I've read of portkeys"? Hermione TOOK A PORTKEY just about a year ago to the World Cup. With Ron! Susan with the Elder Wand is kinda funny, though. |
Simianpower chapter 2 . 2/26 It's unclear here whether Pomfrey is evil, stupid, incompetent, or oathbound, because the prior chapter made it very clear that Harry had long-term damage that any half-competent school medic should see and do something about. The fact that she ONLY offers Luna a bed rather than doing anything more, such as talking with Filius, implies that she somehow can't or won't get involved with student problems, indicating at the very least evil or oathbound rather than merely stupid. |
