Also makes no sense for the head of the DMLE to take an extended vacation during a time where she should be prepping for war.

Even low-end cancer surgery - such as most stage one GI cancer surgeries - which is now mostly done using robots in either North America or Europe - is exhausting - for the patient; in my case, I was laid up four days - so I get the exhaustion end.

This is an awesome first chapter. And, YAY, it's a really long and complete story so I expect to be binge reading for a while. I think this is a new to me author so, who knows, perhaps I will find more awesome stories.

There is nothing wrong with the depiction of Harry or peoples' judgment of his age. The problem is with those commenters. People who are part of the growing majority of this fandom who have allowed the image of healthy, well adjusted, TWELVE YEAR OLD, child actor Daniel Radcliffe in HP:ST to supplant their mental image of the underprivileged little eleven year old boy described in the original books.

The fact that after the movies came out new prints of the books were tweaked to be more in keeping with the changes made by the movies doesn't help.

I found this to be a strange story. Harry Potter had ridiculous amounts of money, since the Potters were from a small insular society that amount of wealth is just not believable at all.

Then Dumbledore supposedly stole 5 million galleons worth (£25000000 in 1990 would be worth £57,237,716.60 today) then he gives them all credit cards backed by 2 million galleons (£2000000 in 1990 would be worth £4,579,017.33 today)

What does Harry do with all this wealth, goes on Holiday, then goes back to the one place where he had a Dark Lord and Dumbledore interfering. He doesn't use any of his properties he seemly owns all across the world, or all that money to hire bodyguards or mercenaries.

Of course, Sirius and Amelia think him going back under the thumb of Dumbledore for a year is a splendid idea, wow, way to make them as dumb as a post. I guess the manipulations, potions, bindings, theft, lies weren't enough of a 'no way in hell is this a good idea'

Then we have the Fidelius which is totally unbreakable unless told the secret and Bellatrix just walks through it. This had me shaking my head at the total stupidity.

PLEASE decapitate DumbleAss at some point in this story. I hate when he is such an evil bastard and then doesn't get enough violent pain & torture inflicted on him at the conclusion. It's messed up to say but, if I were a writer, I'd make characters like him SUFFER so much until the "sweet" promise of death, albeit one just as painful (like sawing the head off with the dullest blade ever made), would be a luxury of mercy for them. And they'd BEG for it for very long time before it was granted. I literally look for stories, even bad ones, where that happens to DumbleAss when a portrayal of him pisses me off so much. For me, a vice grip squeezing the family jewels and then the application of the cruciatus curse is just the tip of the iceberg for the bastard DumbleAss is in this story.
