Hello there!
I don't feel very comfortable reviewing stories, but this one absolutely deserves it. I've just finished chapter 12 and I can honestly say that it's one of the best I've ever read (not only in this fandom but generally speaking).

First of all the characters behave exactly the way they are supposed to. Deku is the same socially awkward, gentle and lovable nerd he should be, not to mention his character progress and newfound bravery, which you captured perfectly. I love the dynamic of his relationship with Kacchan. What I like most about this story is the fact that you make them relatable without sugarcoating important details such as the fact that Katsukis pretty much constantly bullied Deku for years. Yet somehow I (and I'm sure many readers will agree) feel for him and I like the way he grows throughout the story and learns to accept the fact that he still cares for his friend in his own weird way. He might be a jerk at times (probably most of the time honestly), but he's a good person at heart. He's way too competitive and has serious issues with his self-esteem and his anger management, but as Deku realised, he can be kind, caring and funny if he wants to. One thing I noticed about several other stories is that the authors describe the characters they don't like somewhat disrespectfully, exaggerating their less likeable aspects. In contrast, I really appreciate the fact that you've done every character justice so far. I like the little snippets of insight into characters like Aizawa, Todoroki and Ochaco that show how they are all suffering and dealing with the kidnapping in their own way. Katsukis breakdown was very realistic in my opinion. I can absolutely imagine him acting that way in the Anime or Manga. And Kirishimas reaction was spot on as well. He is such a great friend!

Secondly, I love the pace of the story. It never got boring and always managed to keep me at the edge of my seat. After finishing one chapter I always wanted to read the next one right away. The buildup after the kidnapping was especially amazing. I might have lost a little sleep because I couldn't stop reading ;-)

You also managed to balance the mood nicely. Some parts (like the letter in the classroom or Katsuki's incessant swearing) made me laugh out loud, while others broke my heart.

That being said, I'm (im) patiently looking forward to the next chapter, but of course I absolutely understand that it might take some time. Family is most important, after all.

Yes, I am getting impatient! My birthday was two days ago, a month after the last update and I was secretly hoping for an update as a birthday gift :D Still could be a late one though if you hurry, lol.

Wow... I am speechless... I binged this entire thing in one go, and just... Like is this for real? An awesome canon-compliant story with everyone so perfectly in-character? (Blessed!) One that has excellent formatting, length, and gut-wrenching emotional punches?... Seriously, how am I supposed to move on to other MHA fanfictions after this one? They've all been so unsatisfying after this one and just dont measure up... Just... Thank you for writing this! I hope you never run out of steam for this story!

I felt like crying during Bakugo's breakdown.

So i discovered this little gem today and can i just say, this is by far the most realistic interesting take on Izuku and Katsuki's relationship that didn't try to force a ship between them. As a manga reader as well it pleases me that you were able to almost 100% nail their dynamic, I absolutely love this and cant wait to read more, in fact I'd love to be a beta reader just so i can get this in my system slightly earlier and be able to help out.
