I like the pace you gave this chapter. Was it difficult for you to decide whether or not to cover the year of their betrothal or just to skip over and start with the wedding day? I think you made the right decision, after all, a year is a long time in words; but then again, so is 400.

Either way, this was done excellently. There is still the question of children though, unless you want to leave it out because it no longer seems to matter.

Is this the last chapter or will you include a follow-up? It is a a tricky situation, because if you do include a follow up, your adoring fans will want another, and then another, and then another...

You get my point.

This was lovely, and in case this is the last chapter, let me just say that your characters have become real to me, but only because of the brilliant and patient care that you have put into them.

I loved the ending.. hehe sneaky Legolas sneaking away from the party to get back incide the palace for all the fun! LOL I cannot blame him though any man(or elf in this case) would do that. I mean 400 years! I cant even fathom that! 400 YEARS! I'm surprised he didnt ravish her right there after the preacher said man and wife (or elf and maiden or is there even a preacher? the presider then... BAH! I'm confusing myself) Yes. But our Legolas wouldn't do that. He handled himself very well.

Oh yes! And I loved that last line :sigh: Good for them. I'd just like to take my time now to thank Legolas and Valia for inviting me to their wedding... what? I wasn't invited?... Very beautiful chapter, I am so glad it is all going to work out for them. And, he still had the box! I LOVED that part, I thought the carved box was one of the most creative and wonderful things in Shadows of the Past. I can't believe this whole story is nearly over! I also loved the part where Legolas takes the flower out of her hair, it was great. He's going to leave her again, oh no! The simple beauty of this chapter fits in so well with the progression of their relationship, great work!

P.S. I've finally gotten up the courage to post something, it is called "Lilacs." If you get the chance, I would love to know what you think of it and how I can improve!

The story of Valia and Legolas is a true plesaure to read. Your talent for details is astounding and I look forward to reading more of your work. I have read numerous LOTR fan fictions and I must say that you're one of the best writers out there. That's saying alot considering LOTR fan fiction writers are head and shoulders above most fan fiction writers (I think admirers of Tolkien's masterpiece tend to be people of substantial intellect). Keep up the great work and I hope you have more plans in store for Valia.
