Wow. Ok someone needs to invent a more powerful word then 'wow'. Though the shortness of it and the impact of it standing alone is so strong, it falls a million miles short of the amazed state that I am left in right now.

This chapter... wow... I was there. I felt like I was at the ball. I can't even put it into words, but I'll try.

I swear I could hear the music. I could see all of the couples dancing in their elaborate costumes lost in the wonderful sound. And this was only the begining!

Bah! Then his 'betrothed' (but hopefully not to longer :wink wink:) being the cat that she is. I never liked cats... All the couples match, but a cat and a wood nymph naw not even close.. there. Thats good enough grounds for me to call of the engagement.(well you know besides the fact that he loves Valia) 'I'm sorry but, we just didn't match at the masqurade, and that's a big thing. I'm just going to have to call this whole thing off..' hehe... I wouldn't be surprised if that 'thing' was the one who was calling Legolas away from his bliss...

Speaking of which... you were so right. It was definatly worth the wait... only what 400 plus years? lol but, oh mighty Valar, That was ... words escaping me again... again it was like being there... It was so great... oh my goodness the smile has still not left my face! Finally, under the witness of the stars, what a perfect moment. :sigh:

Was this chapter worth the wait, you ask? Well let me think ... DEFINITELY! You've really outdone yourself again, Lady Silma! Of all the wonderful chapters in this story, and the last one, this chapter tops them all.

Oh where to begin? Love the banter between Glorfindel and Valia... you've really made me care about Glorfindel as a character instead of just slightly despise him because at one point he was Legolas's competition for Valia. I didn't like him at all in Shadow of the Past, and the little alternate ending you wrote did nothing to help my opinon of him, lol! But I've actually become endeared of him here as soon as it became apparent he's not interested in Valia like that. His romance with Cithien is a entertaining sideplot.

Hehe, and Valia does get to dance with the three elves that she had yet to dance with, very nice touch there.

And her and Legolas' encounter on the hilltop ... wow... just... wow. Very, very, very well done indeed! The shedding of the masks, them finally plainly admitting their feelings for each other, the kiss, and then the threat of discovery. Simply riveting, and worth every moment of waiting.

And yet, the end was so very sad, with Legolas having to run off and leaving Valia alone and depressed. I really, really, really hope this isn't foreshadowing on the ending! Dealing with Shadow of the Past's ending, even knowing there was a sequel coming, was so very hard to do. After this, if Legolas is still forced to marry the elf witch (The Power of the Book and Davan have found a very appropriate name for her!) I will be positively heartbroken. I am sure you could pull it off with wonderful finese and it would be some of the best romantic angst i've ever read or ever will read, but still, i've got my fingers crossed for a happy ending! And my toes too! Legolas and Valia really deserves some happiness after all you've put them through, (and us readers do as well!) and they're so perfect for each other. They're so deeply in love, and everyone wants them together, including his parents, and if it was any other couple in any other story by any other author i'd be completley certain they'd end up happily ever after, but them being your Legolas and Valia... its just not so absolute. Well, I suppose I shall just have to wait and see how you plan to wrap this up, as hard as that may be. I'm so glad you updates are coming quickly, and i hope that keeps up til the end, because I am still completely unsure how this will end, and I cannot wait to find out!

Good for them. I am glad she admitted it finally. Hopefully Legolas' parents will help them out a bit by maybe sending Hadrielia to mount doom on Middle Earth or something.

Yes, it was worth the wait. Though I have 1 thing to comment on: I thought Legolas wanted to speak with Valia. Oh well, I actually thought this chapter was great, hope more chapters come soon. I don't think I'll be able to review as much since school starts tomorrow but I'll try!

oh...my...god...s... THAT WAS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! Not only did you surpass the beatiful descriptions of the previous chapter but you somehow managed to make every single detail resonate with the next creating an almost melodic rythm in the writing!

This was like a balance meal of Elfy goodness. You got your Glorfindel (the almighty spiffer-roo), you got Isondil with his mischevious ways, you got le mighty pregnant Silia, Lady Bitches a lot, but thankfully we didn't get any lines out of her..., We got Sir Leafs of Leg so was being ever so naughty.

Who am I kidding, that was great! And wonderfully written as well. I was very amused by the interaction between Valia and Legolas, and how they automatically get what the other is trying to say.

Not to mention that you put that out reletively fast. I was pretty shocked, because I wasn't expecting this chapter for another couple of days.
