I'm glad Legolas finally went and danced with her...stupid male elf. I loved the Clearing scene too but PLEASE tell me that the person calling for LEgolas was NOT the ::tries to think of a nice word for her:: Evil-She-Elf-from-Mordor-that-makes-Sauron-and-the-Nazgul-look-like-toothless-kitties. There that is as nice as I'm getting. I love this story and I'm so happy you wrote it becasue Legolas needs a girl who is not a Mary-Sue ::shudders:: Really good story! the wait was worth it!

Okay I confess, the wait was worth it. I loved this chapter and yet again I am amazed at how well written it is, you are truly talented. I can't wait for the day trip now and to see what happens then, and how Hadriela is removed from the situation so Legolas and Valia can be together. I am just glad that Valia is finally fully admittingher feelings. I look forward to the next chapter )

I must say that this chapter was all that you promised and more. Where do I go from there? It's all whirling in a happy dance around in my head.

From the beginning, from the beginning. Again, Cithien continues to prove her place by Glorfindel's side, as he does by her side. The banter between Glorfindel and Valia was delightfully teasing and playful. But one wonders how much of that conversation Legolas heard before he cut in.

Legolas doesn't get much better than this portrayal. In previous chapters, his vigourous charm and romantic gestures always had a slightly restrained or hurried feeling, as if he was afraid he might be caught, or wanted to steal the moment before it left. To Mordor with the ball and chain around his index finger, our beloved Prince is back!

And I've gotta say...moonlit hillside, solitary tree at the top, slight breeze, the gift of privacy...who knew that Legolas (or Lady Silma!) was a closet romantic?

And here Valia was, thinking that Legolas was ashamed for his behavior by the waterfall. Just the opposite - he was waiting for opportunity to be ripe. And when it came, he snatched it like I snatched this chapter.

Isn't it funny that Legolas thinks that the fight had left her just when we the audience saw her boldness capacity shoot through the roof. I note that one's behavior is bolder and more different when one is masked - read about it while studying 'Lord of the Flies', and it even figures pretty prominently in my own story. So it is all the more significant that both Valia and Legolas were unmasked before they began confessing deep-felt desires and dreams, makes it more real in my humble opinion. That, and the way Valia reacts when Legolas unmasks, oh, (sighs contentedly).

The confession...he heard it from her mind, but never heard it from her lips. I think she's made Legolas the happiest Elf in all Valinor, bless her. It wasn't boldness - it was the plain truth that she must have been aching to reveal. And when she did - sweet Illuvatar. Is there any way that these two could elope after Legolas (hopefully!) breaks his betrothal to the elf-witch? Somehow, I don't know if the two of them will last a year's betrothal, if you know what I mean ;) All that pent-up emotion and desire just came flooding out, and, lucky Elves that they were, were caught up in its deluge.

So help me, if the voice in the gardens was the elf-witch, I'll get hold of her head and - (calms self) - and pat her on the cheek and send her on her way.

But what bothered me - 'Goodbye, thank you.'? He's not symbolically saying goodbye to her entirely, is he? IS HE? Valia seems to think so, as evidenced by her confesses her love, kisses and is kissed by Legolas in a way that makes us all envy her, then has to let him go back to the masquerade, and to his unwanted betrothed. Poor girl, she's been on an emotional roller coaster ever since getting the news of Legolas's betrothal. Up and down, up and down - can't she stay up? I think she needs a Silia-hug, if a Legolas-hug is not readily available.

Just a thought - did Legolas remember his mask? It's going to look pretty suspicious if he comes back to the festivities with swollen lips and without his mask. Likewise for Valia in regards to her hair!

Having exceeded my expectations,take another grand bow, Lady Silma, and go treat yourself to some real, non-cafeteria food. Hope your college move-in went well!

Betas never get enough credit, and Davan also deserves to take a bow for this chapter. Though I have restrained all possible modes of elf-witch assassination for this chapter, I leave you with two sayings that should tickle your funny-bone.

Your story has a depth and attention to detail without being descriptive for the sake of making the word count longer(a trait that some do seem to use). Do you intend to pursue this as a career? You should be creating characters and worlds of your own. Keep up the good work the amount of time you have spent on this story is justifyrd by it's quality.
