Reviews for The Gamer Hero, Deku |

![]() ![]() ![]() This is a pretty good story, and I'm happy to see that it was only updated a month ago. So I'm looking forward to the next chapter! My only criticism is that I don't think Bakugo should be able to do everything that Izuku can do, nor as easily. It sort of takes away from what makes his Gamer Quirk special, if literally everybody can do everything he can do, and just as easily. It should give him at least some sort of edge when it comes to versatility with what he can learn, and how quickly he can learn and progress them. I have absolutely no problem with others being able to learn magic, I just feel like it should be harder and slower unless they're naturally inclined. And they should be sort of limited to a selection of magic that they're capable of doing, instead of access to all magic. |
![]() ![]() I love where you’ve gone with this fic and I can’t wait to see more! Ignore the haters who say that this idea is unoriginal or cliche. This is your take on something that interests you. You’re (hopefully) writing this because you enjoy it. And it’s not like you’re making this to make money off it. You can write whatever you want. People can really tell when others are passionate about something, and it shows. Don’t let them bring you down for doing what you enjoy. Personally, I’m both excited to see what Ikuzu & Bakugo will come up with next though I do hope to see them developing in their own unique styles as opposed to the ‘anyone can use mana’ and thus anyone can do anything if they get their hands on the spellbook (because then what makes the gamer quirk unique?) (Which, while it hasn’t gotten to that, I just hope it doesn’t.) But I do feel Bakugo feels a bit ooc, granted he has little reason to hate Ikuzu now. Still, a bit more like an add-on accompaniment than an individual character with his own stuff going on. Additionally, I feel what you’re getting a little bogged down in the creation of various spells. Although I definitely understand the need for an establishment of the limits of what can and cannot be done, and what will be built upon for later usage. That being said, I look forward to more plot now that substantially more of understanding of the quirk has occurred and we have that base to see those abilities used and built upon. And I hope that it leaves still more to be discovered in the higher levels as the plot progresses within the entrance exam and the various events within the canon (assuming that’s the route you’re going, though you’re not obligated to do so (though personally it’s what I’d like to see, by ta ultimately your decision)) Hope to read more from you soon! -Silverspirit |

![]() ![]() ![]() Avatar powers! |
![]() ![]() ![]() I see the party option. It’s not his quirk anymore if he shares it with everyone unless it amounts to nothing more than a communication and location system. If his party members also gain exp and stats? Then they now have two quirks and he will only exist to share it and make others better. It’s both narratively and symbolically kinda sad. |
![]() ![]() ![]() I see two solutions to the milestone skills and the elementals. For the milestone, you could use one of my favorite mediums dnd for some inspiration in the way of different feats that can be taken ( for example, at fifty dexterity, gain a skill for evasion that will reduce all AOE damage by a small percentage up to 50% at a maximum ). You could also go in a completely different angle and instead of giving skills, have these milestones act as gateways between different levels where level 49 would be peak human and 50 would be well above human ability with a corresponding increase in the number of skill points needed to break through it ( I’m thinking 10 for level 50, and it’s an additional 10 added on for each milestone). These barriers can be broken through by just training, but it takes the effort of the same number of levels that the points show its worth. As for the elementals, honestly, the only thing I can think of to make it different is to try and go for fusion elementals. Basically get the main four and then combine them to get stronger elementals with different powers ( fire and wind to make lightning, earth and water to make life, all four together to make something completely bullshit like gravity or something). Obviously the skill would have to be high enough level to control these elementals or they could break free and wreak havoc due to just their raw power and probably being made of LITERAL fire in some cases. I just envision it as for every 25 levels, Deku can summon an additional basic elemental up to level 100 where it upgrades to where he can now combine them to make intermediate, then expert is a combo of 2 intermediate, and this would just go on and on until you get to your stopping point) |
![]() ![]() ![]() This story so unoriginal. Again and again the same gamer shit fics without any distinctions. The same stats, the same skills, the same level up and exp system and quest system. You know, you could think of different rpg/game system. But no, you follow the beaten track. This is so boring. |
![]() ![]() ![]() The meeting with All Might seemed to have gone a little to fast. There was no real meaning in the encounter. I think what I'm trying to say is that, your pacing needs some work. You should read some of the favorite my hero academy fanfics so you have an idea of what the encounter could be. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Why did you write UA as Yuuei? |
![]() ![]() ![]() Very good fic. I don’t know how I feel about bakugou summoning, but... let’s see where it leads. Thanks for writing, hope you don’t abandon this! |
![]() ![]() ![]() It has come up, I guess, there are two or three besides this one on , and three very good ones on Ao3. Look it up there, they are sensational. And I guess I’ll put this up on alert, I kinda like this too. |
