Also why did they not just take out 1 more person which would have left them with an even 40. That part just didn't make sense.
Also remember that there are also the Area Guardians, like Pandora's Actor, Nigredo, Rubedo, Aureole Omega, Guren, Grant and the cockroach dude, they are all 90. Plus there are many other high level npc's running around Nazarick, 5 Overlords man the library, by the mere fact that they are Overlords they have to be at least level 80, also the Evil Lords and Aura's familiars which are all very high level.
Another thing, although indeed the Pleiades where used mostly with the intention the gain time for the supreme beings, they are nothing to scuff at, and you need to take into account that they would not fight alone, the would fight either by playing support for Sebas or by being ridiculously buffed by Omega.

I had hoped you would use some of the investigation to figure out about robot girl and use that to give some of the characters aura.
And sure ainz is pretty fucking strong but I can't see him as a character passing up on aura without trying because of his careful nature.
As a mage type class an extra barrier between him and death sounds amazing.
Not to mention a semblance. It doesn't even need to be that strong or amazing since he already has a ton of power.
Maybe have it be a hallucinatory type semblance born from his humble background thus making people feel like he is normal.
Stealth applications that he doesn't truly need but he would feel like he needs.

I would also think that the npcs of nazarick might go out of their way to obtain aura through experimentation solely based on the idea that they are better then the humans.
I could see many different arguments that would lead to them deciding to get aura and it shouldn't be impossible given the existence of penny.
