![]() ![]() ![]() Good story!, very interesting so far, and sincerely a good start in general. I will surely read more of this. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Unrealistic in terms of anything that relates to fate, you think that anybody would still know about anything shirou did by then? They would have had their mind wiped the instant any information came out. |
![]() ![]() Flimsy beginning. - Pacing out each an every name attached to the swords gives your reader false implications. Canon openly displays Shirou holds little empathy toward using tools as a means to an ends. So giving the names as you are simply paints Emiya as quite the sociopath. - Presuming this is an Emiya that has at least one year's worth of exposure to the Clock Tower, it is not out of pocket to think at the very minimum, he'd be an individual trained in the ways of minimal hypnosis. Lack of talent for magecraft aside, try to recall Archer had zero issues forcing Rin Tohsaka, a well-established magi, to sleep with a spell that would call for invasion of one's own prana over the other (just as Illya had done to Shirou in Fate route). Thus, cornered with a room full of regular civilians, it strains reason that Shirou would merely go along with them instead of inducing a minimum of a hypnotic suggestion, or even that Tohsaka, knowing Emiya's clusivities, wouldn't aid him with some brand of tool that would help him do so. It makes more sense, instead, for agents that looked into Shirou's actions during the assault to instead run his name, and then meet him in his home in Fuyuki, instead of forcing what could have been a disastrous confrontation. And even that much is without assuming the area of Tokyo he was in, wasn't already under the operation of another Owner of Land who would've reacted to both the otherworld invasion AND the bumbling interloper that spilled the secrets of magecraft into the streets so blatantly. - Shirou wouldn't give away his second life identity, under pain of death. Because it endangers the ones who find out, and he well understands that fact. I should hope that would be obvious. So him continuing to blab about his identity and ability makes zero sense for that character, or his original setting. Him talking is literally signing a death warrant on anyone that hears him, nevermind whether they believe him or not. Remember that Shirou was initially killed by Lancer because the Servants all operated with knowledge that magi concerns were to be considered top-secret, no matter what. The Shinto-ward fire, as another example, is known as a natural disaster to the public, not the time the sky split open and spilled man-killing tar everywhere, setting buildings aflame afterwards. Disastrous phenomena takes place constantly in TM's verse (like Roa-as-Ciel murdering an entire French village), and it's kept under wraps and out of public knowledge. A Gate appearance would be handled much the same. The writing otherwise is pretty competent. Your technique's pretty good. The summary of the big flaw here, is you've done far too much to squeeze one canon into another, and therefore broke a lot of the functions of one canon for sake of another. Exposing magecraft is a critically huge deal in Type-Moon canon, despite what FGO displays. You could certainly have Shirou participate in the Gate attack to motivate his participation, but it doesn't have to be so open and blatant and flying in face of TM's own foundations. The same I proposed serves as a good sample. Shirou's own practicality serves as another—someone like him on the hunt for Apostles would certainly have a gun on hand. Also, in trade for listing the many redshirts he can mow down, you could've instead turned the crowd into the humanizing portion, and worked with them as Shirou saved/failed to save them from platoons. He also certainly doesn't have to turn the tide of battle with flashly displays. A broadsword isn't needed for a job that calls for a scalpel. Anyways, good luck. |
![]() ![]() ![]() If I'm right the mage association should've arrested or killed Shirou for revealing magecraft... But eh i like this story! I hope it'll be continued |
![]() ![]() ![]() Is there a reason Shirou isn't being hunted down like a dog at this point, with literally everyone he knows being targeted for culling out of spite if nothing else? That's the MA's modus operandum after all.. |
![]() ![]() ![]() This entire story is a rehash of the manga. with TYPE/Moon material thrown in where appropriate... and thats alright because its made it even better! You didn't just replace Itami with Shirou, you actually gave him his own mission and story beat up until the eventual and expected convergence of their stories! Keep up the good story! |
![]() ![]() ![]() I’m curious whether or not Rin will join them in the Special Region. There were fewer Magi in the hot springs raid than I thought there’d be, but overall, it was a fun arc, and I’m glad I got caught up. Looking forward to more! |
![]() ![]() ![]() Was Rin’s interest in Shivaji CANON? It’s hard to tell… Also, thinking of “swords” to NOT get aroused… is a new one. Also, I wonder how Kuribayashi would react to learning his teacher was King Arthur; who is/was also a girl. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Hmmm… Wonder what would happen if Shirou Traced a “Demi-god tier” weapon… |
![]() ![]() ![]() Is it weird that I’m curious whether or not Shirou could make Chimera meat delicious? |
![]() ![]() ![]() “Have faith in the power of boobs.” How true. As for Hardy… I wonder if her Apostle would run at the sight of a dragon-slaying Sword; assuming she falls into that category. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Alright, I’ll admit, a Chimera of THAT size is “worse than a dragon”. In that context at least. Arpeggio seems like she’d be cute with Shirou, though I wonder how Rory will react upon meeting him… |
![]() ![]() ![]() What could be “almost worse” than a dragon? Assuming that specifies a FIRE Dragon. |
![]() ![]() ![]() An axe of Emloy on his “first” day in the field. Not as grand as a dragon but I guess that could come later. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Excellent first chapter, very cool. I wonder how the Clocktower will look at things, what with how The Gate is too-big to cover up long-term. As for that dragon… Won’t even last five minutes; assuming Shirou and Itami are teamed up, at least. |
